From the desk of

Victoria Frank I don’t know where my mother's obsession with weather came from. I don’t know if it was because she was a southerner that she was so impressed with snow, or if it was because she was an islander, and knew the forces of nature intimately. Whatever the case, she was a hurricane herself. One of the most talented, generous, loyal, hilarious, smart, and genuine people that I, or many of her fans, family, and friends knew. ost people know her from her M heart-warming novels about the Lowcountry of South Carolina and the incredible of cast of characters that she invented. For those who knew her personally, we knew that she was the best character of all. I was lucky enough to be her daughter and best friend, we even got to write a book together, but the best gift she gave me was herself. Having the privilege of being at her apron strings, I was given the opportunity to learn first hand the power of self confidence, hard work, and a dream. 6

My mother started her writing career at the age of forty-eight. She was inspired to share her story after the biggest heartbreak of her life, the death of her mother. She knew that her story might help heal the hearts of many, and also to do it with laughter, the sharpest tool in her toolbox. My mother would always tell me that you can say anything but to focus on the delivery. She decided to write a novel without any formal training or degree. It wound up selling over two million copies and hitting the best sellers list the week it was released, a feat she would go on to repeat for each of her subsequent novels.. She just made it happen. My mother would set a goal and reach it. She loved to prove everyone wrong while wowing the rest of us. She was never afraid to dress up. Known for her gorgeous jewels, sparkly blue eyes and signature red lipstick, my mother always made life a celebration. She was a fabulous entertainer - absolutely nobody threw a party like Dot Frank.

Holidays were nothing short of spectacular in our household, and that goes for birthdays too. I remember during my fourth birthday she got on her hands and knees to sponge paint a yellow brick road on mural paper throughout our house and hot glued red sequins onto my Mary Janes. She loved to thrill us, and show us that magic was possible. One Christmas, she took all of my Barbie dolls, made them all wings out of tin foil, and suspended them from the ceiling using fishing wire to make them look like they were dressing the tree. She made sure, that we had an unbelievable childhood. She made us believe that anything was truly possible. Much like the pieces you will see here in this collection, you will know that they directly reflect who she was. Strong, beautiful, and classic… just like a hurricane.

Victoria’s Picks

Lot 137

Lot 8

Lot 130 Lot 118

Lot 137 Eddie Parker Cheers! Clutch $200-400 The perfect Dottie bag. Lot 118 Pink Upholstered Armchair and Ottoman $200-300 This chair sat in my parents bedroom. As a little girl I hated to be alone and spent many nights curled up in this chair.

8

Lot 8 Boleslaw Cybis Women Bathing, 1923 $3,000-5,000 This painting was in my mom’s dressing room. My brother and I would always giggle at it.

Lot 130 Louis Vuitton Palermo Monogram Canvvas Bag with Chain Charm $400-600

Lot 15 Pair of Large Brass Andirons, Set of Three Gilt Bronze Tools and Stand $400-600

My mom and bought matching bags on a cruise to St. Barths. I have a matching one.

This fire place tool set was featured in the movie CITY HALL ( shot in our living room) which stared Anthony Hopkins and John Cusack. My mom would joke that these should have won an Oscar for “Best supporting prop”.

Lot 98

Lot 15

Lot 42

Lot 43

Lot 3 Lot 1 (part)

Lot 1 Pair of Louis XVI Style Upholstered Giltwood Bergeres $500-700

Lot 42 Pair of Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Palm Tree-Form Candlesticks $3,000-5,000

Lot 98 Pair of Bill Huebbe Painted Cast Resin Monkey-Form Two-Light Candelabra $200-300

These sat in our living room and my mom killed many a crossword puzzle in them. She adored dove grey silk. We would always say that they gave off an “old hollywood vibe” because they felt so glamorous.

Lot 43 Two American Sterling Silver Water Pitchers $700-1,000

These hilarious lamps were fixtures in our sunroom, affectionately called the “jungle room”. My mom had a moment where she couldn’t stop decorating it. We had tiny monkeys and elephants everywhere in that room. It was fun! The walls had two monkeys painted on them - one holding a mirror with my moms reflection and the other one reading the Wall Street Journal to be my dad haha!

Anything silver always caught our eye. It’s just so elegant. Any time something silver appears on your table, it elevates the entire experience. Those silver pitchers were at every luncheon.

Lot 3 Set of Four Louis XVI Style Painted Wood Fauteuils $600-900 My mom wanted velvet chairs, my dad said we would ruin them. We, meaning my brother and I. My mother swore that we wouldn’t. The second chair has an impression of my eleven year old butt in a wet bathing suit. Dad was right.
