December was an incredible month to celebrate holiday concerts and shows at DPAC. We had two weeks of ‘Twas the Night Before…by Cirque du Soleil , based on the poem “A Visit from Saint Nicolas” that brought the magic of Cirque to life. Next, we celebrated the 51st anniversary of the extraordinary local show, A Christmas Carol –Presented by Theatre in the Park . It’s been noted as “one of the most successful shows in North Carolina theater history.”
NUTCRACKER!
Magical Christmas Ballet danced their way into DPAC, with puppets, amazing acrobatics, and hand-crafted costumes and sets on Christmas Eve. Then, we welcomed Brian Regan back for a sold-out comedy show that had everyone laughing in their seats. We ended the holiday month with a sold-out, re-imagined version of the classic ballet, The Hip Hop Nutcracker.

2024 / 2025 DPAC’s Local Hero Spotlight
DPAC’s Local Hero Spotlight recognizes those in the Triangle who are doing great deeds in service to their communities or families. Recipients receive a VIP night out at DPAC, including premium seating to a select show, VIP Parking, and access to BMW of Southpoint’s President’s Club hospitality area.
Congratulations to Durham’s Former City Manager, Wanda Page, who was DPAC’s latest Local Hero in December. City staff and residents alike thank Wanda for her tireless efforts that have undoubtedly improved our community in more ways than one. Wanda has spent her career making Durham the best place it can be, and we offer our congratulations on her retirement.
