HOW TO ACCESS THE MUSEUM The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is easily accessed  1. By Bus Bus Lines 7,10,11,12,31,39,58 as well as the Cultural Line 50  2. By Car (nearest parking sites) Vellidio Convention Center HELEXPO Parking Thessaloniki City Hall Parking YMCA Parking  3. On foot a 10 min walk from Aristotelous square  4. In good mood!


Admission and Visiting hours VISITING HOURS (last update November 1, 2016) 

Monday-Sunday: 9:00 - 16:00

The Museum is closed on December 25 and 26, January 1, March 25, May 1 and Easter Sunday.

1. ADMISSION REDUCED ADMISSION FEE (valid for everyone): 4 Euros

2. Special ticket package, valid for 3 days

GENERAL ADMISSION FEE: 15 Euros  REDUCED ADMISSION FEE: 8 Euros valid for (November 1st - March 31st, opening times):  Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki: open daily: 9:00-16:00 

and paintings(daily equipment, burial stuff; paintings from the tombs; mosaics from the center of Thessaloniki) ďƒźSculptures and miniature art(statues from 6th century B.C. and from public buildings ; jewels from glass, board games, rich vessels) ďƒźMetalworking(gold wreaths, gold and silver jewels, bronze helmets, iron swords and big collection of coins)

Exhibits ď śThe

central rooms hold exhibits from the archaeological excavations conducted in Thessaloniki and the broader area of Macedonia(the areas of Thessaloniki ,Kilkis, Pieria and Chalkidiki ). ď śIn the central section of the museum is displayed the collection of Archaic to Late Roman sculptures from Thessaloniki and Macedonia in general.(prehistoric to late antiquity).


Exhibits The new wing(renovation in 2002-2006) hosts two exhibitions: ď ś The Gold of Macedon, with artefacts from the cemeteries of Sindos, Agia Paraskevi, Nea Filadelfia, Makrygialos, Derveni, Lete, Serres, and Evropos; and ď ś The Thessaloniki Area in Prehistory, with material from prehistoric settlements, dating from the Neolithic to the Early and Late Bronze Age.
