MUDDY BOOTS

Adventure in nature with your preschooler at the West Point on the Eno Environmental Education Pavilion. We’ll read a nature-themed book, then take a walk on the wild side to find the nature right outside our door. Children must be accompanied by a parent, and of course, wear boots or sneakers that can get a little dirty! Parents must accompany children. Pre-registration is required. FAMILY LAKE DAY: CANOEING

Ready to learn the basics of canoeing while gaining confidence and skill on the water? Join us as we teach basic strokes and water safety knowledge in order for you to paddle your way around Lake Michie. This program is one hour of guided paddling and lessons, with free time to follow allowing you to practice your new paddling skills. DPR Outdoor Recreation will provide the equipment; you bring weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. FAMILY LAKE DAY: FISHING

Come “sink your hook in” at Lake Michie as we teach you the basics of fishing. As the crappie and largemouth bass keep biting, feel free to stay longer and see what you can catch! DPR Outdoor Recreation will provide the equipment and bait, though you may bring your own pole if you like; you bring weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. This class is geared towards beginner paddlers, you will learn the basics of kayaking in a fun and safe environment. We will teach you basic water safety and strokes and feel free to stay after and paddle on your own in order to explore all that Lake Michie has to offer. FULL MOON PADDLE

Enjoy the view of the full moon over the lake with us on this Full Moon Paddle. The wide sky over Lake Michie offers spectacular viewing of the moon as it reflects off of the lake below. We will paddle canoes and kayaks as a group to enjoy the beauty of the night sky over the lake. DPR Outdoor Recreation will provide the equipment; you bring weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. This program is intended for adults at least 18 years of age. STARLIGHT PADDLE

See a different side of Lake Michie with an evening Starlight Paddle. With its dark sky, Lake Michie offers excellent sky-watching opportunities, especially on the water. We will provide canoes and kayaks as a group to enjoy the beauty of the night sky over the lake. DPR Outdoor Recreation will provide the equipment; you bring weatherappropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Preregistration is required for all participants. SUNSET FAMILY PADDLE
