DPR summer camp programs offer a safe, inclusive environment where all children are encouraged to participate. We are committed to the development of our campers’ life skills through group activities and exposure to diverse athletic and educational experiences.

General Information Camp begins Monday, June 13 and ends Friday, August 12. Camps are closed on Monday, July 4, for the holiday. Camp Hours: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Youth Camps - Age: 5-12 (except where indicated) Please note: Child must have completed kindergarten and turned five by September 1, 2015, and cannot be older than 12 years of age by September 1, 2015. Teen Camps - Age: 13-17 Please note: Teen must be 13 by September 1, 2015, and cannot be older than 17 years of age by September 1, 2015. Proof of age (birth certificate) is required for all camp registrations.

Fees Per child, per week: (unless otherwise indicated) City Residents with Play More Card: $118.75 City Residents without Play More Card: $132 Non-City Residents with Play More Card: $141.25 Non-City Residents without Play More Card: $157

Registration Officially Opens Monday, March 14, 2016 Registration will officially open for onsite and online patrons Monday, March 14, 2016. Online registration will be available 24 hours a day and onsite registration will be available at any DPR facility starting at 8:30 a.m. Registration for East Durham, W.I. Patterson, Eno Discovery Camp, and Adventure Camp will not be held on site. Registration for these sites will be accepted online and at any open DPR facility. Payment Information The first week of camp must be paid in full at the time of registration. In order to reserve space in additional weeks of camp, please be prepared to make a 10 percent deposit per week at the time of registration.

Please Note: Register Online! In order to register online, patrons will first need to set up an online account and retrieve an ID and PIN. It is recommended that you complete this process before March 16 so that your registration process goes smoothly. If you do not have an online account: •Visit www.DPRPlayMore.org, click on “Register Online” in the menu on the left side of the page. •When you are directed to the Play More Online course registry site, click on “Request New Account.” If you already have an online account with a valid email attached to the account: •Visit www.DPRPlayMore.org, click on “Register Online” in the menu on the left side of the page. When you go to the Play More Online site, click on “Login.” •When the dialog box opens, click the link “Forgot Password.” •Type in the email address on your account. A login ID and PIN will be emailed to you. PLEASE NOTE: If a message appears that your email address is not found in the database, you will need to follow the steps to request a new account.

Registration in DPR summer camps, whether online or on site, requires that the School Age Care Program Registration Form and the Authorized Pickup Form MUST be completed and submitted for all participants by June 1, 2016. Failure to do so will result in the participant being withdrawn from ALL sessions of summer camp and the loss of any deposits paid. For registrations that take place after June 1, 2016, these forms must be turned in at the time of registration. These forms can be found at www.DPRPlayMore.org.

Sliding Fee Scale (SFS) DPR offers reduced fees through our sliding fee scale program. To apply for this program, please complete a Sliding Fee Scale application and submit it at any recreation center. PLEASE NOTE: If you are a new SFS registrant or your current application is expired or will expire soon, you must submit a new application by February 19 to ensure that it is processed and approved by the March 14 summer camp registration date. Applications are available at any of our recreation centers, administrative office, or by calling (919) 560-4355. It is also located on our website under “Brochures, Forms and Applications” at www.DPRPlayMore.org.


YOUTH CAMPS CAMPUS HILLS Campus Hills will provide an unforgettable summer camp experience! Participants will enjoy weekly themed activities, swimming, outdoor adventures, field trips, friendly sports competition, and more. LYON PARK Lyon Park will host the ultimate sports camp! There will be the opportunity to learn the history, skills, techniques, and rules of different sports. CAMP EVOLUTION TEENS Camp Evolution is a camp that provides teens with diverse experiences by exposing them to various community organizations, volunteer opportunities, and activities that promote social awareness. Campers will tour historical sites and various organizations which will provide exceptional learning experiences. CAMP JOURNEY Camp Journey is an exciting summer camp serving children with disabilities who need a special environment in which to learn and grow. This program offers participants the opportunity to gain the full summer camp experience in a supportive environment with a 1:3 staff to participant ratio. Campers will be encouraged to utilize existing skills as well as develop new ones. If a camper requires individualized support at a 1:1 ratio, the family will be required to provide additional care. Camp Journey does not provide personal care including but not limited to toileting, feeding etc. Age: 6-12

WEST POINT ON THE ENO ADVENTURES Spend a week trying out adventurous outdoor activities like rock climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding and much more. Campers meet at West Point on the Eno park in the morning and spend the day adventuring thought the natural wonders here in the Triangle. Space is limited, register early! Age: 9-13

VOLUNTEERS IN TRAINING

Adventure camp is geared toward youth who love the outdoorscamping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and much more. The camp focuses on outdoor learning, leadership, discovery and fun. Wednesday and Thursday nights are out-of-town overnight campouts. Space is limited, register early! Age: 9-13

Volunteers in Training is for teens ages 13-15. Teens will participate in a week long camp that will explore volunteer and career opportunities. Participants will get hands-on experience with both private and community based organizations. This camp will provide team building activities, as well as other fun and exciting learning opportunities. Volunteers in Training camp drop off time is between 8:30am- 9am. Camp activities begin at 9am. Age: 13-15

Spend a week at the Eno River and the surrounding landscape. Tadpoles will discover the world of plants, insects, and animals in and around the Eno River. This camp is mostly outdoors and has limited indoor time. Age: 6-8

ENO DISCOVERY - POLLIWOGS EXPLORE Explore serves teens ages 13-21 with disabilities. Participants will be given the opportunity to participate in theater arts through music, acting and dance. Campers will also learn about different sports through play and friendly competition. Finally, participants will engage in volunteerism; exploring career and handson opportunities while in a supportive environment of a 1:4 staff to participant ratio. Age: 13-21
