The liberal arts education at DePauw has allowed me to take a wide range of courses that I found to be interesting, all providing me with a unique new insight. Over the course of my first two years at DePauw, all of my classes, from American government to economics, led me back to the realization of my true passion for mathematics, particularly learning how to apply it to various areas of study. Small Colleges in the U.S. And one of only three institutions in the Midwest in the top 30. #1 in Indiana, according to Money magazine 2018.

I initially took the course Japanese Culture, Technology and Design because I was interested in the evolution and advancement of technology, as well as how it has intertwined with culture. What I learned, however, was so much more. This course has taught me the significance of design and technology in Japanese culture, and inspired me to analyze the role that it plays within my own life and culture. Seeing how important design is to function taught me how vital it is in modern technology. From religious temples and shrines to cutting-edge service robots, traditional Japanese design concepts transcend time and influence culture. BRITTANY DAVIS, junior DEPAUW UN I VERSI TY
