Dr. Aaron Wohl's life narrative emerges from the multicultural settings of Perrine, Florida, showcasing a guy of passion, devotion, and continual learning. His childhood and teenage years were characterized by a keen interest in connecting with others and an insatiable appetite for knowledge. He took his first steps towards the skies during high school, self-funding flying lessons through his job at a Kendall pet store and achieving his private pilot's license at 17. Alongside this, he immersed himself in medicine, serving as an emergency room technician at a local hospital, influenced by his father's profession as an emergency nurse. His academic excellence shone through when he graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology from Florida International University in 1998. The University of Florida College of Medicine was the next chapter in his educational journey, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class in 2001. He further distinguished himself during his residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC), earning the prestigious "Resident of the Year" award in 2004. He briefly served as an assistant clinical professor in emergency medicine at Shands UF in Gainesville. His path then led him to community emergency medicine in Fort Myers. Since 2005, he has been a steadfast figure in community emergency medicine in Fort Myers, dedicating himself to combatting the opioid crisis. Beginning in 2008, he collaborated with peers to develop guidelines aimed at reducing prescription opioid abuse. His advocacy efforts extended to promoting access to Naloxone, leading to the establishment of a naloxone distribution program in 2015 and the introduction of a Buprenorphine induction protocol in 2018.
