Shadow Play I used a model table to produce various shadows and observe an items shadow footprint. I achieved this by using different light sources and different surfaces as a background. Through this I learnt that the shadow of an object impacts on how it is perceived.
Extreme Cameras This is part of a series of cameras meant for extreme circumstances, in this case cycling. The main objective for this camera was a minimal footprint so as not to impose on the activity
Fruity Face A 3D scanner was used to scan my face and an apple. I imported the scans into Rhino and then imposed my face onto the surface of the apple. This was then exported into Photoshop and the colour was added.
Illustrator Rendering This is a rendering made in Illustrator. It was made using an existing image as a reference. The pen and gradient tool were used extensively. This was my first attempt at creating a realistic Illustrator rendering.
Consumption Diary This is a video recording of 48 hours of water use in my unit, this acted as diary of all my water consumption. I recorded over 2.5 hours of just water use. This footage was sped up and edited to make a video that is only 1.45mins. This can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIiCdQbqCZU
Creative Piece This was originally a sketch which was scanned into Illustrator. From the sketch I created paths and filled them in a colourful manner. This was a fun creative exercise.
Hand Sketch Using hands in sketches can be helpful when drawing up new designs. They can be used to create a context and scale around an object.
Citrus Juicer This juicer would work by stabbing the blades into the citrus fruit and then using the strength in your hand to squeeze juice through the funnel cylinder into a container. The model is made of card, however the final product would be stainless steel.
Citrus Juicer 2 A laser cutter was used to cut out all the individual card parts and then the pieces were stuck together. It works on the same principles as the earlier juicer however has a more refined form and more effective blades. Also the proposed filter is more effective.
Consumerism Poster This project allowed us to observe our consumer culture and reflect on this through a poster. We were encouraged to explore ideas that we felt related to our lives at university and how we felt about society. This is spray painted near my house.
Compact Table This table was created during high school. It was designed to save space and have maximum storage so that it could used in a student situation where space can be limited. It also can double its table top size when needed and is designed to fit CD’s or DVD’s with its adjustable draws.
Photoshop Rendering This rendering is based on a hand drawn sketch and was referenced from an actual cutting knife. It was then scanned into Photoshop, where paths created of each individual part. From these paths the fill tool was used in conjunction with the burn and dodge tool and also the bevel and emboss effect.
