Nick and his wife Erin (Language Department Chair, & Spanish Teacher at WJ) live in Cuyahoga Falls with their three sons, Graham (6), Lucas (4), and Alexander, who was born in July of 2021. Nick is also the founder of Devoted Fitness & Strength in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

JOHN BEDELL ‘06

Was promoted to lead investigative reporter at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio. On February 9, the Ohio House and Senate passed House Bill 4, sending it to Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk for his signature. HB 4 is a child welfare reform plan. State lawmakers said they introduced the legislation in response to Bedell’s Emmynominated investigative report that uncovered systemic failures within the system responsible for protecting children in danger that led to missed opportunities to save 10-year-old Takoda Collins before his murder in Dayton in late 2019. DeWine told Bedell in an interview at the Ohio Governor’s Residence that he plans to sign the bill.

CARLA MINER (PIZZINO) ‘07

Is a stay at home mom and second year Masters of Divinity candidate at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. She and her husband Blake Miner are the parents of Andrew (5), Ethan (3), and Dominic (1).

ANTHONY PACHOLEWSKI ’07

Anthony works at FirstEnergy Corp. as a Senior Technical Specialist and is currently part of a $150MM project to replace numerous outage and energy management systems across the company. Anthony earned his MBA in Business Management in 2017 from Baldwin Wallace University. Anthony and his wife, Ashley, have two children, Leo born July 2017 and Oliver born Dec. 2019. Ashley is a co-principal at Ashland Junior High School.

Tony & his wife Hillary welcomed their son, Henry Joseph Leo Dipre into the world on January 24, 2021. He was born 8 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 inches.

After working in Dubai, Samantha and her husband Justin Cooper moved back to Ohio, where Samantha is currently managing two departments at the largest AAPI non-profit in Ohio: Asian Services in Action, Inc., in Akron, OH.

Married Ryan Barunas on September 17, 2021. They have moved back to Westlake where Caitlin works as a Communications Manager at Moen.

Elise married Patrick Boyland, a fellow Jesuit from Georgetown Prep in Virginia, on July 11, 2020 in a beautiful outdoor ceremony with alumni Erica Pacholewski ’11 as Maid of Honor, and Lauren Jenkins ’08 as bridesmaid.

(PACHOLEWSKI ’09 CONT.) - Elise graduated with a Masters in Allied Health Care Administration & Management from University of Cincinnati. She is a clinical assistant and athletic trainer, working in sports medicine. Her husband, Patrick, graduated from John Carroll and is currently a reset merchandiser for a large distribution company. They are enjoying life in Columbus.

Works for the Indiana Department of Transportation as a Toll Operator. He received the Employee of the Month Award in October 2019, June 2020, & August 2021. He is married to Heather Fudney-Beneke. They are the parents of Gabe Fudney-Beneke (3) & Caleb’s stepson, Marcus (5).

EMMA COLEY ’15

Celebrated her Oblation confirmation at Mount Angel Abbey in Saint Benedict, OR, where she studies Iconography. As an oblate, Emma commited to live a life centered in faith, rooted in serving Christ in communion with a monastic community, where she will continue the traditions of the Benedictine way. In addition, Emma deferred a full scholarship to Notre Dame to continue her work at the Simone Weil house in Portland Oregon, a Catholic Worker Community and public household and complete her studies in Iconography.
