Welcome

A MESSAGE FROM THE EC

How fast things can change. A few days ago, we thought lockdown was a thing of the past and COVID-19 was contained in managed isolation. This week has showed us that so much can change in 24 hours, with Auckland back in Level 3 lockdown and the rest of the country in Alert Level 2. We are still navigating our way through this storm together, but we have done it once before and we can do it again and we know (more or less) what to expect.

and defined industry vertical specialisations. We met 3 times a week as a country and each branch held their own presentation and shared their stories through Microsoft Teams. Branches adopted the use of Eversign quickly, and we all became more acquainted with our digital tools, and significantly reduced our paper usage. Technology enabled us to weather the storm better, and as a result, has brought our company closer together.

As an essential service, we were very fortunate to continue to serve our communities during the first lockdown. We are all still doing our part and acting as a team, helping to create a healthier and safer country.

We want to thank you for your hard work and commitment, both over the past few months as well as now. We are proud and inspired by the resilience you are showing and your willingness to adapt. Let’s keep working together towards a better and brighter future.

Although COVID is causing a lot of uncertainty, it’s presenting some unique opportunities, with the EC working ‘on’ the business. During the country-wide lockdown we implemented numerous group projects which were led remotely, creating new company initiatives

SPOTLIGHT ON THE BOILER ROOM The Boiler Room was an initiative which started during lockdown, with the strategy of defining key industry verticals for our business, and growing our presence and market share within those. There are four defined industries: Food Manufacturing, Transportation & Logistics, Construction, Roading and Infrastructure, and White Collar which includes Contact Centre, Banking & Finance and Sales & Marketing. By having industry specialisations, we can become ‘experts in the field’ on a national level. The Boiler Room is not necessarily focused on quick wins, but is about building relationships in our verticals, getting asked to tender when RFPs come out, and winning business that benefits our whole country. Through the Boiler Room, we are working more closely together as a team, across all of our branches. The fortnightly catch-ups provide an opportunity to learn from and bounce ideas off of each other, and encourages a national focus, rather than just on your own area. The following are some of the recent opportunities from the Boiler Room: 9 Through relationship building, there have been an increase in orders through Fletcher’s (and related businesses) across the country 9 Increase in meetings with Toll across the country 9 Develop branch relationships with T&G nationally 9 Working with Kiwi Can Do to get candidates to market to Traffic Safe 9 Opportunities have arisen from Gilmour’s and Bidfood 9 Invited to tender for the Coca-Cola Amatil RFP 9 More leads being shared across branches (a true OneDrake focus!) If you want to get involved in the Boiler Room, please reach out to the EC to discuss further.

Candidate Care Candidates are our biggest advocates. We want all candidates to have a great experience with Drake so that we become top of mind when people are searching for a job. We have introduced a new candidate care team who looks after all the initiatives. So far, they have introduced: 9 Job seeker tools page with free downloadable resources including CV templates 9 Closed Facebook group. A safe place for FSEs to meet each other and another form of open communication 9 Welcome letters and birthday emails - It’s the small personal touches that make a big difference like remembering someone’s birthday and sending them a note. 9 Commitment to responding to every candidate. It’s tough finding a job, it’s even tougher when you don’t hear back from an employer. One happy candidate will become your most loyal advocate. We are looking forward to what else the team will introduce. Our Candidate Care Team Emily Triggs, Linda Seeque, Laura Lewis, Anna O’Connor & Brogan Milham

Marketing Update From introducing new technology into our business to help us work faster and smarter, to our growing social media presence, to our work with the global design team, to most importantly working on submitting tenders for new businesses, it’s safe to say a lot is definitely happening in Marketing this year so far! REGISTRATION On the recruitment side, the adoption of Eversign enabled us to quickly and easily get FSEs registered and documents signed over lock-down. Without this programme, registering staff would have been near impossible and time consuming! Paper waste has also significantly reduced. ASSESSMENTS With our new automated assessment system, our candidates can complete their assessments in the comfort of their own home with the results marked and sent back automatically to our consultants - think about the amount of time we managed to save with this! COMMUNICATION We introduced our first chatbot into the company, our amazing Dee. She sits on both our Drake and Medox websites and happily answers any customer or client questions. Since her arrival in March, she has answered more than 2,000 questions and helped with 15 staffing order forms. SOCIAL MEDIA Because videos are far more engaging and memorable than any type of content, we have been incorporating video into our marketing strategy. Our social media has continued to grow. We have reached a milestone of 3.7k on LinkedIn and 5k on Facebook! A strong social presence enables us to connect with potential clients and create real connections with people. Since May, our re-marketing, Google Adwords and organic SEO campaigns led to 52 client leads. DESIGN We have been working hard with other countries to standardise Drake branding globally. Given this was last done in 2004, this initiative was started as a way to refresh our global brand to better suit our new and more energetic market. We are proud to say that many of our elements, particularly our illustrative design style as well as our interpretation of the Drake blue, will be adopted into the new global brand guidelines for all countries!

Medox Corner Thank you to our amazing team! The nursing and support worker FSEs have been working around the clock the last few months to keep our clients and communities safe, and we are very grateful to them, and put together a video to say thank you!

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR FSEs!

Building our candidate pool Finding great candidates for our clients is not an easy job especially for our Medox consultants. Over the last few months, we have been investing more in social media remarketing and Google AdWords and have been passing these candidates’ resumes to our recruitment team.

Onwards and Upwards! We have two new additions to our Medox family in Tauranga focusing on building the business in the wider Bay of Plenty region. Watch this space for more North Island expansion, and looking at South Island opportunities!
