Des Moines. The center of everything. There’s really no “Iowa nice” way to say it: Drake’s hometown, Des Moines, is kind of a big deal. Iowa’s capital city is getting lots of attention for its hip culture and for being a prime place for young adults to launch a career or startup; engage with politics; or enjoy the vibrant art, theater, culture, and music scenes. You’ll find Drake in a 150-acre oasis within the city—a day’s drive from anywhere in the Midwest and five

TOP FIVE REASONS DRAKE UNIVERSITY SHOULD BE YOUR #1 CHOICE. 1. Professors Know Your Name Our caring faculty and a 10:1 student-to-teacher ratio ensure Drake Bulldogs get personalized instruction from professors who get to know them.
2. Fun is a Tradition— Our Annual Paint Fight Students paint a street on campus every spring to celebrate the annual Drake Relays. Sometimes (okay, often) there’s more paint on the students than the street.
3. You Will Dominate Your Career Field You will graduate ready for action. Even with additional challenges brought on by the pandemic, 95.5% of our 2020 graduating class launched careers or began grad school within six months of graduation.
4. You May Meet the Next U.S. President You’ll be at ground zero for the first-in-the-nation U.S. presidential caucuses, televised debates, candidate visits, and press. Drake gives you a ringside seat for national action and potentially the internship of a lifetime.
5. Your Drake Education Comes with a Tuition Guarantee Our Tuition Guarantee means your tuition will never go up during your four years at Drake. Plus, 100% of undergraduate students receive scholarships.
