The notebook collection is made of pattern wrapping paper that has been used popularly for gift, book wrapping, decoration and specially in Tet holiday in Vietnam since 1960s. The human could be cherished their memories by things like smell, photos, sovenirs. In Southern Spring Notebook Collection, the habitual patterns remind the memory of Vietnamese in which each contains a story of their own. Lunar New Year is a very special traditional holiday of Vietnamese and the four color version of collection with bright color as the best wishes for a great new year with lucky and happiness for all four seasons.

CONCEPT ART

The media work that reflects remix culture, a process that makes a new creative work developing in the early 21st century. Poster design is my selection and the topic is the affection of Western culture on Vietnamese culture via Dong Ho painting. The media piece is a remixed painting that depicts a new modern Vietnamese society. Under the influence of Western Culture, it has become more advanced in thinking and escape from outdated ideas.

PHOTOGRAPHY

“Carved” is my photography portfolio project about architecture, monument specifically. My idea derives from the issue of Saigon’s infrastructure development recently. In this series of photos, I aim to exploit the features of these monuments that different from Modernism ones. In a modern city as Saigon with skyscrapers, shopping centers, these statues represent and symbolize for culture of Saigon in architecture such as the combination among European, Asia, Champa features. Each of the statues is not only contain the culture value but also the Vietnamese heroes’ spirit. Furthermore, I want to raise the perception of preservation and maintenance for these monuments.
