BACKGROUND ChildFund Myanmar is the representative office of ChildFund Australia – an independent and nonreligious international development organisation that works to reduce poverty for children in the developing world. ChildFund Australia began working in Myanmar in 2012. Child-focused development programs are being delivered in a partnership approach working with local groups and organisations focusing on the areas of child protection, education, sustainable livelihoods, water and sanitation, health and HIV and AIDs. ChildFund Australia is a member of the ChildFund Alliance – a global network of 12 organisations which assists more than 15 million children and families in 58 countries. ChildFund Australia is a registered charity and is fully accredited by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).

REPORTING STRUCTURE / RELATIONSHIPS The Program Officer reports operationally to the ChildFund Myanmar Program Coordinator. The Program Officer works closely with ChildFund Korea as well as local authorities, consultants and contractors involved in program activities, and with other ChildFund Myanmar staff, to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of activities.

ROLE OF PROGRAM OFFICER The Program Officer, Korea Partnership Support (the “Program Officer”) is responsible for:  Supporting the development and implementation of the partnership between ChildFund Myanmar and ChildFund Korea, with the overall objective of improving the well-being of children;  Developing in-depth knowledge of local partners, building positive and valuable engagement with those partners, and providing or facilitating assistance to enable program/project implementation;  Participating in, or leading, the preparation and development of key project-related planning and reporting documents (program designs, annual budgets and work-plans, new project proposals and budgets, reports to Korea, etc);  Conducting desk reviews and monitoring visits; and CFM: VA of PO

 Supporting Marketing and fundraising activities. QUALIFICATION and EXPERIENCE  Bachelor’s degree in specific discipline and/or equivalent experience.  Strong commitment to children’s rights and well-being;  At least 3 years of experience in international development with:  Demonstrated exposure to program design, implementation and evaluation concepts;  Familiarity with donor proposals and proposal/report writing processes;  Proven ability to provide high quality work products under time constraints;  Demonstrated experience producing high quality program summaries and in research;  Understanding of qualitative and participatory research methods;  Strong financial management skills, including development of project budgets;  Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well within tight time constraints and meet deadlines;  Excellent in coordination with:  Familiarity with multilateral agencies, foundations, and other institutions;  Excellent interpersonal skills, including cross cultural awareness;  Organized, detail-oriented, team player, self-starter and results-oriented individual;  Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English;  Strong computer skills, with familiarity in using Microsoft Office suite applications (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint);  Experience of grant/project implementation and/or coordination in the field preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

In this position you will be required to undertake a Police criminal background check by a local police authority at the time of commencement of employment with ChildFund if available and a follow-up check every 2 years or at any other time when required to do so by ChildFund.

Regular travel to ChildFund’s program areas in Myanmar will be required.

Salary will be set according to experience and qualifications, in accordance with ChildFund Myanmar’s salary scale.
