Week #50 – 2023

Dear Members, This week marks the last newsletter of 2023 for Cross Ocean. We wish you all happy holidays and an excellent end of the year and start of the new year. Our first newsletter of 2024 is scheduled for the third week of January. In just 48 hours from now me and our Chairman Bo we will be in Hong Kong hosting a small regional meeting for members in Asia. In February we will have our big global conference in Dubai, don’t forget to register here, view the agenda here and book your hotel here. If you have an issue booking using the hotel website you are welcome to book using this form. On the topic of shipping lines attempting to encroach on the freight forwarders slice of the market we received a copy of an email from Maersk to a customer of one of our members. You may already know that many shipping lines are doing this but it is eye opening to see it in such a blatant manner. View the email below.

I hope you enjoy this new format for the Cross Ocean newsletter. Please continue to share your project news with me.

All the best, Cody Abram cody.abram@cross-ocean.com

NTG Air & Ocean Norway Handled a 97mt Stator from Karmay to Etne by Barge then by Truck to Litledalen for Final Destination Løkjel, Norway

The Stator/Rotar originated in Spain, NTG assumed responsibility for the cargo in Karmøy upon discharge from the ocean-going vessel.

Timeline: 21:47 – From Karmøy NTG used a special trailer to roll the cargo onboard a barge pulled by tug. 21:51 – Sailed up the Etne fjord. 21:61 – From port Etne, where we had to protect the key by weight distribution, we drove in to Litledalen. Enroute NTG had to cut trees, remove road signs and also electricity posts. 21:83 – As you can see from the photos there were only centimeters clearance at several obstructions. From Litledalen NTG connected pulling trucks and brought the cargo up to the power site at Løkjelsvatn. The transport was performed during the wintertime and on mountain roads during snowfall. 21:89 – As the casing was removed NTG had to back the cargo up the montain for delivery at site. Road conditions: 1,7 KM with 12% slope, and as little as 10 CM clearing at several points. 22:04 – Delivery complete
