Blood Cancer
Introduction
Blood cancer represents a large number of different malignancies. This group includes cancers of the bone marrow, blood, and lymphatic system, including cancers of the lymph nodes, lymph vessels, tonsils, thymus, spleen, and lymphatic tissues of the digestive tract. Symptoms Bone and Joint Pain Joint discomfort is common and usually felt in the hands, feet, hips, knees, or spine. Pain may be constant or it can come and go. Sometimes the joint can feel stiff, achy, or sore. Some patients complain of a burning, throbbing, or “grating” sensation
Bleeding or bruising easily Bleeding easily is usually the result of a bleeding disorder, many of which are inherited conditions such as hemophilia or von Willebrand disease. Bleeding disorders are conditions in which the ability of the blood to clot normally is impaired. Bleeding disorders can range from mild to severe. Poor nutrition or liver disease can also be causes of easy bleeding.
Fever A fever is a temporary increase in your body temperature, often due to an illness. Having a fever is a sign that something out of the ordinary is going on in your body. For an adult, a fever may be uncomfortable, but usually isn't a cause for concern unless it reaches 103 F (39.4 C) or higher.
