Pine Meadow/John Graham Court DREAM Monthly Snapshot October 2012 Program Happenings and Highlights • Middlebury College students continued planning traditional fall activities for the mentees and were excited to continue to build tradition around a few of the highly anticipated programs. • Mentors continued to build the strength of their organization on campus, recruiting new mentors and having them complete orientation to become official DREAM mentors. • Simran Sabharwal, a program co-chair and mentor wrote a piece for the campus newspaper about the impact DREAM has had on her college experience! Mentors and mentees traveled to Happy Valley Orchard for an afternoon of apple picking! This fun fall tradition has become an annual event and the youth and mentors love playing at the orchard and enjoying their apples. Rain brought the group inside at Middlebury College where they took advantage of one of the campus’s game rooms. Another fall tradition is the Halloween Party. Middlebury DREAM mentors hosted the party on a Saturday afternoon and, along with Community Friends Mentoring, had a great party for the mentees, complete with costumes, games and candy.
