Pine Meadow/John Graham Court DREAM Monthly Snapshot June & July 2012 Program Happenings and Highlights June marked the opening of the summer DREAM program, and interns Anna ShiremanGrabowski and Melissa Rixford jumped into programming with kids this month full of enthusiasm and big DREAMs! Swimming was the most popular activity by far amongst the Middlebury DREAMers, who frequented Lake Dunmore, Button Bay State Park, Branbury State Park, and elsewhere for swimming and hiking adventures. One of the most exciting excursions during these past two months was a ferry ride to New York followed by a trip to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory!

Weekly Programming with Children The advent of programming was celebrated at Pine Meadow and John Graham Court with an ice cream party! Trips to the local library have become a routine field trip for Middlebury DREAMers, who participate in programming there and take out books regularly. The DREAMers spent time weekly on a bottle drive throughout these two months, and also held a successful car wash that brought in around $45! DREAMers took advantage of two movie nights on the green, watching Finding Nemo and The Wizard of Oz together under the stars. Shelburne Museum donated admission to the Middlebury DREAMers, who loved exploring the museum and, most especially, loved riding the carousel! The group enjoyed a picnic accompanied by a tie-dying art project one summery afternoon.
