Birchwood DREAM Monthly Snapshot July 2013 Program Happenings and Highlights • • •
Six Birchwood teens went sailing at The Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. One Birchwood youth attended Camp DREAM’s northern Vermont girls session. Five Birchwood youth attended Camp DREAM’s northern Vermont boys session.

Julie took 6 kids berry picking. With the berries that the DREAMers picked, they made popsicles. A group of kids went to the Milton Library to do arts and crafts activities. Teens travelled to downtown Burlington to watch the Ben and Jerry’s movie night movie, Rise of the Guardians. Birchwood youth joined DREAMers from the Elm Street program for a morning of cookie decorating at Barrio Bakery. A group of Birchwood boys went with Julie to Sandbar State Park for an afternoon of swimming. Julie took a group of kids to Shelburne Farms where they learned about farming and how to milk a cow. Six kids went sailing at the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. Julie took a group of kids to a tour of Lake Champlain Chocolates. Teens attended a drumming performance in Milton. Two teens and Julie went to the circus in Fairfax. One of the teens attended a cooking class at Healthy Living Market. A group of Birchwood youth went to the Shelburne Museum for the day. Their favorite exhibit was the Ticonderoga Steamboat.

Birchwood kids enjoyed getting to know some of the DREAMers from Franklin Square at North Beach where they went swimming and made s’mores. Eight Birchwood youth went to the Lake Monsters baseball game. They were all very excited when the Lake Monsters won in the 9th inning. A group of DREAMers from Birchwood went to the Ben and Jerry’s factory in Waterbury for a tour.
