Elm Street DREAM Monthly Snapshot July2013 Program Happenings and Highlights • • •
Four Elm Street youth enjoyed an afternoon of sailing at the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center A group of four Elm Street girls joined girls from all over northern Vermont at Camp DREAM for a week of swimming, canoeing, and games. Six Elm Street DREAMers attended Camp DREAM’s northern Vermont boys session.

Elm Street DREAMers have enjoyed taking care of their garden plot at the O’Brien Community Center garden. So far they have harvested basil, lettuce, and mint. A group of teens watched Rise of the Guardians at Ben and Jerry’s in downtown Burlington. Elm Street has enjoyed many trips to the pool this summer. A group of teens attended a free concert at Battery Park. DREAMers enjoyed a tour of Lake Champlain Chocolates and especially enjoyed the free samples at the end. Elm Street kids enjoyed making recycled crafts at the Fletcher Free Library. Elm Street DREAMers enjoyed meeting DREAM kids from the Birchwood program during a morning of cookie decorating at Barrio Bakery. A group of Elm Streeters made paper mache masks and painted them. A group of teens made dinner with ingredients from the garden. Elm Street DREAMers competed in a basketball tournament. Four kids went sailing at the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. A group of youth went berry picking and then made smoothies with the berries they had picked.

A group of teens went to the Lake Monsters Game. Everyone was very excited to see the Lake Monsters pull off a win in the bottom of the 9th inning. Boys and girls separated for a night of pizza making and movies.
