Riverside DREAM Monthly Snapshot July 2013 Program Happenings and Highlights • •

A group of Riverside girls had a great time during a windy afternoon of sailing at the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center. Five Riverside DREAMers attended Camp DREAM’s northern Vermont girls session from July 23-26. Activities included canoeing, sailing, swimming, and mountain biking. Riverside boys loved the opportunity to attend Camp DREAM’s northern Vermont boys session from July 30 – August 2.

Weekly Programming with Children • • • • • • • • •
Riverside DREAMers created a poster to use at their upcoming fundraising events. A group of youth travelled to Ben and Jerry’s on Church Street for ice cream. Riverside DREAMers met up with a group of kids from Franklin Square for cookie decorating at Barrio Bakery. Youth went on a tour of Lake Champlain Chocolates. Their favorite part was definitely the delicious free samples Teens enjoyed completing in a basketball tournament against their friends at Franklin Square. Swimming at North Beach has been a big hit so far this summer. Riverside DREAMers headed to Church Street for Ben and Jerry’s movie night. Teens went to a concert in battery park Riverside youth helped make baked goods to sell at a bake sale with Franklin Square.

Three riverside girls went to the humane society to help take care of the kittens. Johanna brought three Riverside DREAMers on a trip to New York on the ferry. UVM rescue brought an ambulance to Riverside to teach DREAMers about their job. Riverside kids had a blast at the Lake Monsters game.
