Riverside DREAM Monthly Snapshot July 2014 Program Happenings and Highlights • • •
Riverside teens were invited to Camp DREAM’s Teen Session for a week of adventure and growth in Fletcher, Vermont. DREAM’s College Road Trip took a group of Vermont teens to New York City, where they toured colleges, navigated the Metro, and took lots of great pictures! DREAM thanked Rachel Zelouf, Meagan Borofsky, and Amna Mustafic for a summer of great programming at their End of Service Celebration on August 1st.

Riverside teens enjoyed a movie night in the apartment of a Summer VISTA. Mentees spent multiple days at the pool. Summer VISTAs took mentees on a hike up Mount Philo. Riverside took a trip to the Ben and Jerry’s Factory in Waterbury, where they ate free ice cream and toured the factory. Summer VISTAs helped Parks and Recreation during an afternoon lunch. Riverside mentees spent multiple days at North Beach and Oakledge Park. Summer VISTAs helped out over the weekend for a BHA Barbeque. Riverside mentees traveled to Shelburne Farms, where they played with the animals and learned a lot about food! Mentees sailed on Lake Champlain thanks to the generous support of the Communtiy Sailing Center! Riverside mentees participated in a Church Street scavenger hunt. Summer VISTAs took Riverside youth to the Echo Center. Riverside and Franklin Square mentees joined together for an epic talent show, hosted by Amna, Rachel, and Meagan. Thanks to BHA, Parks and Rec, and many others for the generous donations of food and time! With the money raised from the talent show, Riverside youth went on the Spirit of Ethan Allen for a ferry tour across Lake Champlain!
