Birchwood DREAM Monthly Snapshot June 2017 Program Happenings and Highlights • The DREAM Office led the annual Summer Orientation, where summer staff and AmeriCorps members were participated in trainings on behavior management, fundraising, program planning, and much more! • Champlain Mentors during the school year, Deborah Kosnar and Ashley Devereaux will be running programming for the youth in Birchwood Manor this summer. They held a Summer Kickoff Event where youth and parents were invited to the community center to do crafts and talk about what they want to do with DREAM over the summer. • Camp DREAM held two sessions this month and 5 Birchwood DREAMers attended! Weekly Programming with Children • Youth went to the Milton Farmer’s Market multiple times with Deb and Ashley this month. • A group of DREAMers went to the playground. • Programming one day consisted of planting in the community garden and playing outdoor games! • DREAMers hiked Eagle Mountain! • The group tie dyed at the community center. • Teens came to Burlington to attend a gaming event at Fletcher Free Library. • One afternoon, teens came to Burlington to meet up with other school year mentors. The group took on the Vermonster Challenge and together ate 20 scoops of ice cream with toppings! Thank you for your ongoing support of DREAM.
