Program Happenings and Highlights ● Summer DREAM came to a close at the beginning of August. The DREAM Office celebrated the summer members and staff who ran programming with a celebratory barbecue. ● Across DREAM’s 3 regions, 12 full time AmeriCorps members began their service in the DREAMCorps National Americorps Program on August 28th, including 6 new PEDs in Vermont! ● DREAM welcomes Tara Santi and Chris Adamo as new Co Chairs for the coming semester! ● Regular DREAM Fridays will resume on September 29th after the mentors return to school and spend some time recruiting new mentors for the year! Mentees Mentors Total: 14 Total: 8 Weekly Programming with Children ● During July the DREAMers explored the outdoors during a hike to the Falls of Lana ● Our summer staff led the DREAM mentees through a pond biology exploration! ● DREAMers got creative over the month of July, making a movie and doing some finger painting! ● Mentees and summer staff worked together on two educational projects – an egg drop experiment where participants used limited materials to make a vessel to protect a raw egg dropped from varying heights, and a soda rocket building experiment! ● The group had an awesome kickball tournament. ● One July afternoon the group visited the Morgan Horse Farm to meet the horses! ● DREAMers visited the Shelburne Museum!
