Franklin Square DREAM Monthly Snapshot July 2017 Program Happenings and Highlights

The DREAM Office held a Mid Summer Retreat for the Summer Community AmeriCorps Members and Staff. The summer team participated in a training from Prevent Child Abuse Vermont. Camp DREAM held 2 sessions this month! Multiple youth from Franklin Square attended. Teens from multiple Burlington area programs got together a couple times this month. The teens and summer members/staff went bowling, got creemees, and went to Summervale at the Intervale! Teens from across the state joined together for the annual College Road Trip! 7 DREAM teens and 6 chaperones spent a week together touring colleges and learning about other post secondary options. The group rounded out the trip with a trip to The Great Escape!

Weekly Programming with Children • • • •
Summer DREAMers went on weekly trips to the beach with Morgan and Austin! The group played games and did arts and crafts in the community Youth spent an afternoon sailing on Lake Champlain courtesy of the Community Sailing Center. DREAMers went on trips to go bowling, play mini golf, eat pizza, get creemees, and go to the library!
