Poultney DREAM Quarterly Report June - August, 2017
Greetings from DREAM! Summer programming began this June and our two Summer AmeriCorps Members put on some great activities for the Poultney youth! The Poultney community was brimming with DREAMiness and here is a summary of happenings that occurred this Summer.
Highlights from the quarter include: ● Youth had a lot of fun engaging in Summer programming with our two Summer AmeriCorps Members! ● For their culminating Summer activity, youth had the opportunity to go camping at Winhall Campground! Participants Mentees Total: 9

Summer Program Activities: ● Youth went swimming at Lake Saint Catherine on multiple occasions ● Youth invited some of their friends and went mini golfing ● Teens were invited to a Movie Night where they watched the new Spiderman movie ● The mentees spent some time at the Library doing arts and crafts ● Another week, the youth went hiking at The Zen Garden Special Events for Children and Mentors: ● DREAM received a Summer Readers’ grant from CLiF(Children’s Literacy Foundation). Local author and illustrator, Jason Chin, gave a presentation about his books and his writing/illustrating process to 30 youth from our Burlington area programs.
Capacity Building and Fundraising: ● Through our annual summer appeal we raised close to $50K.
