Dot Line Gestalt is seeing the whole project as something rather than looking at every little detail for it to become the final project. When doing the dot and line project we had to just see the bigger picture with the dots and lines instead of looking at them as just dots and lines. I rather be able to spend a lot of time on a project so that I can work on every detail of the project. If I don’t have much time I tend to make little mistakes that messes up the rest of the project in the long run. I didn’t understand abstraction through art before, but now I understand it through art a lot more now. And it was not that hard to represent my ideas without illustrating them because I came up with ideas of how I portrayed the idea of the word. And finally now that we have done this project it allows you to appreciate and actually cherish the little details in all different kinds of art work.

Letterforms I really enjoyed the process of working with the carved out letters because it was a very simple but complex project. In order to get a word to symbolize what the word means or how you interpret the word without using illustrations is very chellenging. That is also what made the project enjooyable because it forced you to think outside the box and become more creative with your design. I tried to get all of the noise out of the way but there was some spots that just would just not quit. Realizing through time that you might not have to move the noise and that it actually makes the design look good as long as it flows and it isnt just super messy unless that is the idea that you are going for!

Object Iterations In this project we were asked to pick a animal or an object and I chose to do the most amazing animal in the world the “King Cheetah”. Starting this project the first thing we were asked to do was to draw our own classmates without looking at the paper and just picture in our heads how it was coming out. This was weird at first, but after getting passed the fact that it was going to be bad no matter what the process became really fun! Once we were done with that we had to take object, shapes, and just continous line in order to make a cheetah.

20x20 Presentation This by bar is the toughest project that we had by far. We were told to pick a designer and do a presentation on the designer where there is 20 slides and on each slide is 20 seconds of us talking about their design work and cateer as a designer. 20 seconds may seem short, but while doing the presentation you realize how long those 20 seconds actually are. This project is literally the nightmere to anyone that hates public speaking!

PSA Poster The PSA poster was by far my favorite project the whole semester. We were paired together with a classmate on this project. The task was for us to act like our classmate was our client and we had to come up with a design for an issue in the world that they wanted to put notice on. My partner was Chris and she decided to support the ban of lead ammunition becasue american eagles are eating it and dying from it.

Dotline reflection When looking back at the Dotline Project I believe it was the perfect starting project for the school year. We learned right away how and why we need to expand our imaginations and creativity. We had to get the mindset of when looking at anything that there is a form of art there. And that is exactly what we did in the Dotline project, we had to use dots and lines to resemble a feeling. The image below was my favorite design that I came up with and resembled energy!

Letter Form Reflect Working on the Letterform was probably the most relaxing/stressful project that we had to do all semester. It was so simple yet so annoying when it came to printing the letters cleanly. I used the word C R O W N and once I got passed the fact that the “noise” was to just be there I came out with pretty good prints. Trying to show a meaning of crown through just letters was very challenging but it was fun as well. In the image below there was a lot of noise aroud the letters and at first I was disappointed, until I realized that it actually looks good and liked it.

PSA Reflection I said it once and I will say it again the PSA Poster was by far my favorite project, just the idea of having someone pretend to be your client and wanting them to do something a certain way makes the project more real and understanding. I was with my classmate Chris and she wanted to address the issue that Lead Ammunition is Killing aniamls that american Eagles eat. I learned a lot about the whole issue and where people stand on it and I was glad to be able to come up with a poster to support the cause.

20x20 Reflection Moving on the most difficult project in my eyes the 20x20 presentation. This project when you look at it on paper is really not that bad, you do some research on a famous artists and then make 20 slides of 20 seconds of talking on each slide. Now to someone that is afraid of public speaking this project is a nightmere. But overall the project taught me a lot about Paula Sher and the design world. Her work has been around for so long for a reaosn and that reason is that she is very talented. It was a honor researching such an amazing artist. Below is one of her most famous work that is always brought up even 40 years later.

D school One of the very first things that we did in class was a project with a partner to get to know them better. A lot of people would have looked at it as just another first day of class activity which it was, but when we were asked to get to know the person next to you, I really did and starting the class off with getting to know someone was a very good feeling. My image on the next page is what I made for my classmate AJ when I was asked to build something that described him. And meeting new people getting out of his comfort zone is what I was inteding by this project.
