a little bit about me At one point in my life, I thought I was going to be a doctor and even majored in chemistry and biology. In high school, I bought my first point-and-shoot camera and focused mainly on things around my house. Now I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in Benton, AR and available worldwide. I aim to deliver clean, strong, timeless images that my clients will love for a lifetime. My shooting style is pretty laid back and involves me directing my clients as much as they need it. Some need more direction than others. In either case, I want my clients to be relaxed and naturally posed. My editing style is fairly minimalistic because I believe my clients should shine in their images, not my Photoshop abilities. In business for six years, when I’m not spending time with my two beautiful girls or my lovely wife Emily, I enjoy a good comedy or a well written drama series. I look forward to creating unique, beautiful photography with you which will act as window back to your special moments for years to come.

What makes you a stand-out photographer is your ability to capture the shots everyone else would miss. You have the precision of a surgeon and the eye of an artist. And every photo brings us back to relive the moment. For me, you weren’t a choice. There was no one else I could to trust to capture those moments.
Mandy Hicks
Drew was a great choice for our wedding photography! I was looking for someone that used modern techniques but captured timeless photos at the same time. Drew delivered on both of those aspects! We absolutely loved our engagement and wedding pics!
You are so kind, hard-working, and truly care about each and every client. Pictures are a memory that last a lifetime and I am so thankful I will have these beautiful photos forever. You truly capture timeless photos with perfection.

Drew Cason Photography is hands down the best around! You have such an eye for the perfect setting and do such a great job of listening to what your clients want! Clark and I were so pleased with the pictures you did for us! You captured so many perfect moments and made it so easy for us to re-live our special day!
I’m pretty uncomfortable in front of a camera, but Drew put us instantly at ease. During the ceremony and reception, he was nearly invisible but managed to get some wonderful shots. He made our tiny wedding look like something out of a magazine.

June 7th, 2014 | The Castle on Stagecoach Why did you pick Drew for a wedding photographer? One of my sisters used Drew for her wedding and had 13 bridesmaids. Not only did he know their names, he directed the pictures while still making it fun. I can honestly say I've never been so impressed with a photographer in the way he handled the craziness.
That's What was it like working with him? Working with Drew was like working with a friend. I'm one of those who feel kinda awkward in front of the camera and my husband is anti PDA to the max! I was secretly terrified and I just knew this was going to be reflected in every photo. Drew had a unique way of making us both feel comfortable.
Did you have any complications on your wedding day & how did Drew handle them? We had the ultimate complication, rain! Drew was so calm and relaxed while it poured down rain for hours. We still got an incredible amount of pictures before the rain and Drew never missed a beat. The rain cleared just in time for the ceremony and Drew made an effort to get even more shots after the ceremony. The rain didn't effect Drew or our pictures. His excitement about the rainbow and "good lighting" made me feel at peace. Do you feel like he truly captured the story of the day? Drew absolutely captured every moment of the entire day. When we got the pictures back we felt like we relived the entire experience. We enjoyed things we didn't even notice the night of the wedding.

What was your favorite part about working with Drew? His personality and artistic eye made working with him an unforgettable experience. He has a unique way of being able to be artsy and straightforward at the same time. As we got closer to the wedding day I had tons of questions and concerns. Drew was able to help take a lot of the stress away. Why would you recommend Drew to prospective clients? Drew will not let any expectations down. He will handle any concerns, awkwardness, or fears you might have. There’s nothing he isn't open to trying and somehow he will make it all beautiful. My 3 older sisters and I agree that Drew is the best photographer out of all 4 of our weddings. I have 3 younger sisters and I already know who they will want to capture their special days. Anything else you want to say about your experience that would be helpful to other brides? Pictures are the one thing you will have forever that will constantly remind you of one of the most loved, cherished, and important day of your life. Drew is worth every penny and more. You will get more than you expected when you book Drew Cason as your photographer. He is loyal to his brides and will go above and beyond to work with you and your ideas and make you feel beautiful and comfortable.

August 2, 2014 | Fellowship Bible Church + Chenal CC Why did you pick Drew for a wedding photographer? Drew and I were neighbors growing up and I knew him personally enough to know that he would be very professional and dependable. I also have been following his website for years and admire his photography. I think he captures light beautifully in his photos while maintaining crisp and vivid colors!
what
What was it like working with him? I’ve worked with several photographers but believe Drew may be the best when it comes to posing and creative design. He gives great direction during the photo shoot and knows how to work different backgrounds. Did you have any complications on your wedding day & how did Drew handle them? The wedding day was surprisingly very smooth, but probably because of Drew. Drew has the leadership and compatibility to make a full, chaotic day run without a snag.
Do you feel like he truly captured the story of the day? He was there directing the posed portraits before the wedding and he was there for the spontaneous poses on the dance floor! Also, he caught moments of guests and decor details that I didn’t have the chance to notice. I could not ask for more!

A WEDDING DAY PHOTO TIMELINE A wedding is a whirlwind of events, gone in the blink of an eye. There’s little more important to a perfectly executed event than an organized timeline. If you are looking to effectively plan out your wedding day with your wedding coordinator or fiance, here’s a look at a typical wedding photo timeline from our point of view. We are here to help assist you in planning out your day so that you don’t miss a beat. 3 H OURS BEFORE T H E C EREM ONY I arrive at the preparation site to capture the finishing touches of hair and makeup and to document the bride getting into her wedding dress and the groomsmen making their final preparations. 2 H OURS BEFORE T H E C EREM ONY I arrange for a “first sight” for the bride and groom where they see each other before the ceremony. I’m there to candidly capture their reactions at first and then immediately afterwards we start with portraits of the bride and groom. 1.5 H OURS BEFORE T H E C EREM ONY I gather all of the wedding party for a few group shots as well as individual shots with the bride and groom.
3 0 M INUTES AFTER T H E C ERE M ONY I arrive at the reception site and immediately begin photographing all of the details, including the cake(s) and floral decor. I will also take this time to set up any lights if I find they are needed. This is also a great time for the bride and groom to grab a bite to eat. Depending on the time that the sun sets, I like to take the couple outside for 5-10 mintues to shoot a few more portraits in the last light of the day rigth before they enter. 1 H OUR AFTER T H E C ERE M ONY At this time we strictly document the reception candidly as it unfolds, including the first dances, toasts, dancing, and cake cutting. But don’t worry; we are always available for any photo request you may have throughout the evening. Just ask! 4 H OURS AFTER T H E C ERE M ONY
1 H OUR BEFORE T H E C EREM ONY Everyone’s favorite part of the wedding day: family formals! If the bride and groom are getting married in a church, I typically shoot the family pictures near the altar. If the wedding is outside, I’ll find some good light with a nice backgound. 3 0 M INUTES BEFORE T H E C EREM ONY I’m finished with all of the pre-wedding pictures and I begin making any last minute preparations for the ceremony. We take a last look around and find where the light is coming from to best document the ceremony. At this time you should have a quick refreshment and take 15 minutes of quiet time with just the two of you; you’ll want to regroup before all the excitement begins!

I pack my equipment and prepare for my departure. But first, I will check with you to make sure there aren’t any further photos you would like or if you would like for us to stay a little longer.
Two weeks before your wedding we will touch base via phone or e-mail to discuss your wedding day photo timeline. At this time we will also provide you with our Wedding Day Information form to fill out with all your wedding details including family members, special photo requests, and vendors. This information will ensure we are all on the same page for an unforgettable and stress-free event!

the engagement session Is an engagement shoot necessary? After all, your wedding pictures are the beginning of your life, right? Shooting an engagement is important for several reasons. First, this time allows you to get comfortable in front of the camera with your photographer, figuring out how you work best together before the wedding. Let’s face it, having your picture taken is a bit awkward at first for 99% of couples. Getting that out of the way prior to the wedding is a great thing.
drew cason photography
Next, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting, while creating some fun captures for wall portraits, sign-in books, and Thank You cards. Plus, if we can schedule your engagement session early enough, you could use the images for your Save the Date cards and invitations. Best of all, you can remember this special time forever, away from the throngs of loved ones and friends that will be there on your wedding day.

bridal Portraits There may be nothing more of a southern staple of the wedding process than the bridal session. Bridal sessions are a great way to take the dress out for a dry run. Your dress may fit “perfectly in the bridal salon, but when you get out in the real world and wear it for an hour you might notice that it could be taken in a little here or let out a bit there. This is also a great time to test out your wedding day hair and make-up. Maybe you want to try an up-do? Maybe something with curls? If you like it, awesome. If not, you can change it. Bridals are scheduled for a date at least one month before the wedding. That way you have time to get a large print or two for the reception and make any necessary alterations to your dress or wedding day look.

“Our wedding was intimate and informal— only our closest family members attended— but it was immensely important to us to have our day documented in timeless photos that we could treasure forever. Having seen Drew’s previous work, we knew he was the absolute best at capturing emotions though his lens: perfectly posed portraits of the bride and groom, warm candids of guests at the party and shots of the smallest wedding details. We wanted an amazing photographer and Drew exceeded our sky-high expectations. The pictures truly speak for themselves.”

“Drew is everything we could have imagined in a wedding photographer. He completely captured the love and emotion of our wedding day, and our photos are nothing short of stunning. I feel like I get to re-live the experience every time I look at them. Not only is Drew’s work amazing, he is professional, reliable, and organized three qualities every bride appreciates! During the wedding and reception, Drew worked seamlessly, somehow blending in yet being right in the middle of the action to capture everything.” drew cason photography

Should we do a first sight?
Yes! First of all, it will help with any nerves. Once you see your handsome significant other any fears you had about the day will instantly go away. Also, it allows us to get some great shots without anyone else around and prevent us from making all of the guests wait an extra long time at the reception. Mostly though, by doing a first sight, you get to actually spend your wedding day together instead of spending it apart.
How many images will I get from my sessions and wedding?
With an engagement and bridal session you will get anywhere from 40-60 high resolution images. You will receive anywhere from 500-800 high resolution images from your wedding. All of the images will be given to you on a USB drive after the wedding.
Will I be able to print my images?
You will have printing rights to all of your images. Because these are professional images
you will want to print them from professionals to get the best quality photos. Mpix.com does a great job at a great price. Trust me. You don’t want to buy prints anywhere that has a medicine aisle. :)
Do I need a shot list for my photographer?
Not necessarily. Most of the shots that you are going to want such as dress hanging up, floral decor, and cake cutting are pretty standard shots. I will capture all of these moments in a clean and timeless way. If there are specific things that might be different than any other wedding then I would love to know that. For example, if your bouquet has a broach from your great-grandmother then I’ll need to know that.
how much photoshop goes into the images? I like for my images to be clean and timeless. I do use Photoshop for the occasional stray hair or blemish, but I try not to overdo it. I want you to look like the best version of you and not someone else. No mannequin skin or crazy eyes here. My theory is that if you can tell I’ve done something in Photoshop, then I did it wrong.
Do you have a second photographer at the wedding?
Not always. In fact, most of the time I’m shooting by myself. I feel more than capable covering a wedding alone. However, if you have it in your budget and you want a second photographer, that’s great. I love having a little extra help on wedding days. My second shooters are going to be well established photographer friends of mine that I know I can trust, not somebody just starting out.
What are Your thoughts on having an unplugged wedding?
Ummm... Yes please! I can’t even tell you how many times I had had to elbow my way in to the cake table because all of the guests are there trying to get a great shot for their Instagram feed. Or how many times guests are too worried about getting a shot of the bride on their iPads as she walks down the aisle and totally miss out on the actul moment. I love it when my brides ask the guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.
FAQs
What if we are super awkward and don ' t know what to do?
That means you are normal. Don’t worry about it. I give all of my clients as much direction as they need. Most couples need quite a bit at the beginning of the session and a little less toward the end. It is very rare for a couple to be able to just be completely natural on their own.
