Dr. Godwin Ofikwu
Dr. Ofikwu's desire to serve people began at a young age, and he immediately realized that being a surgeon would allow him to pursue that passion. From Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria, he graduated in 2000 as “Best Graduating Medical Student in Surgery.” He was a house physician and then a resident surgeon at the same teaching hospital. Dr. Ofikwu joined Harlem Hospital in 2006 as Assistant Director of Quality Management. Later in 2015, he finished his general surgery residency at Harlem Hospital Medical Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Ofikwu trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering. CC. Dr. Ofikwu completed his colorectal surgery residency at MSU's Ferguson Clinic. Dr. Ofikwu joined Atlantic as an Attending Colorectal Surgeon. Shore Surgical Associates in New Jersey till 2017. His firm, Global Surgical Solutions and Colorectal Surgical Associates of Nevada, has grown tremendously throughout the years. He works at numerous Southern Nevada hospitals. A reputation for taking on difficult situations that other surgeons would normally turn down gives him a competitive edge. Dr. Ofikwu is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Ofikwu is board qualified in surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He is also a fellow of the ACS. CEO Ryan Jensen presented Dr. Ofikwu with the 2018-Q2 Service Excellence Award. He has co-authored articles in Surgery. Dr. Ofikwu devotes his time to the Ofikwu Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps low-income people obtain surgery and preventative treatment. He is committed to delivering progressive, health-forward programs to neglected communities, while also improving people's lives. Dr. Ofikwu's call to service began early in life, and he likes the human engagement and interpersonal bonds he develops with his patients as they achieve healthy, active lifestyles through cutting-edge treatment regimens.
