Masks are being increasingly adopted around the world as a key element in the fight against COVID-19 and Queensland has joined in.
Queensland's Chief Medical Officer, Dr Young, has urged all Queenslanders to wear masks in public if they are unable to socially distance or are in a confined space.
"Over the last few days I've been saying to people this is the time to get out those ... surgical masks that you can now buy anywhere," she said.
"Or if you've made a mask with three layers of thickness, they are effective as well — not quite as effective, but they're pretty good."
Dr Young said that masks should be worn by taxi, hire car and limo drivers and their passengers.
In fact if you are travelling with someone not from your household, then all travellers should wear a mask.

THE IDEAL MIX BETWEEN MOTORBIKE AND CAR
Unlike many small car-like EVs, the Microlino offers “real” car features like four wheels, seat belts and an entry door, though there’s only one door, and it happens to do double-duty as the front of the vehicle as well.
The Microlino is powered by an 11kW motor with 100Nm of torque that can propel the little EV up to 90 km/h. It features two different battery options (8 or 14.4 kWh) that can provide either 125 or 200 km of range. Top Speed 90 km/h
Range 200kms
Charging 4 hours
WHY HAVE TWO WHEELS WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THREE?
The cute little Microletta electric scooter features two tilting wheels in the front for a more stable ride. That design also means that riders in Europe won’t need a motorcycle license to operate the Microletta, and can instead ride it with just a standard driver licence. Top Speed 80 km/h
Range 100kms
Charging 4 hours
BETTER URBAN lifestyle
On average, a car is occupied by only 1.2 people and driven just 35km per day. This means that normal cars are too big for 95% of their usage. Sounds stupid, right? The Microlino is designed to be ideal for daily use, whether it is commuting to work, visiting friends or going shopping.
Space for 2 adults and 3 cases of beer.
Can be charged on a house-plug in just 4 hours.
Easy parking - Crosspark and get out directly on the sidewalk.
