SUV of the Year: The 2014 Subaru Forester “Subaru has a knack for making the right size vehicles for the marketplace, with just the right level of capability people want.” This is an excerpt from a Subaru review by Motor Trend on the 2014 Subaru Forester. Motor Trend named the 2014 Subaru Forester as the SUV of the Year, an honor not awarded lightly. Author Allyson Harwood went on to say: “The redesigned 2014 Subaru Forester has better efficiency, added power, and increased cargo volume, without a significant increase in overall size. The new Forester provides a comfortable ride with a roomy interior. Its off-road capability is plenty for the majority of sport/utility buyers. It offers a lot of value for the money. And it accomplishes all this while still being fun to drive.” The 2014 Subaru Forester has been completely redesigned. Among better MPG, Subaru has updated the design, technology and have of course improved the safety options. Read on for some of the highlights. DESIGN Every Subaru model is designed with features important to you, from fuel efficiency to cargo space and all the creature comforts to love every day’s journey. Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV) Every Forester 2.5i model is a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV)[1], meaning it exceeds California’s stringent emissions standards and offers lower emissions than some hybrid or alternative fuel vehicles. 32 MPG Fuel Efficiency The combination of the durable SUBARU BOXER® engine with the available Lineartronic® CVT allows the Forester to get up to 32 MPG highway. Flexible Storage Space The 60/40-split flat-folding rear seat gives you the option to have more cargo room, while a large rear gate makes loading and unloading a breeze. Raised roof rails add even more cargo-carrying ability, because whatever the day brings, you can handle it. Ground-Clearing Capability

Forester comes with available 17-inch or 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and features 8.7 inches of ground clearance to help you cover nearly every road your heart sets out on. Interior Comforts The spacious interior of the Forester is designed with many comfort-minded features including an available 10-way power driver’s seat, reclining rear seats, and new wide-opening rear doors. Panoramic Power Moonroof An available power tilt/sliding-glass panoramic moonroof lets you feel the breeze, brighten the day and check out the stars. All-Weather Package The available All-Weather Package includes heated seats, heated side mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer to improve both comfort and visibility when the weather turns cold. TECHNOLOGY From the little digital luxuries to the unique SUBARU BOXER® engine, every Forester is intelligently designed for all the right reasons. Power Rear Gate Open and close the rear lift gate at the push of a button on your key fob, by controls on the dashboard or on the hatch. You can also adjust the gate’s height. Bluetooth® Bluetooth® hands-free technology lets you manage your phone and audio system by voice and controls on the steering wheel. Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones link directly through the Subaru audio system. Premium Audio, SiriusXM™ and HD Radio Forester has available audio systems including HD Radio™, Aha™[4], Harman Kardon speakers, USB/iPod® control, Bluetooth® audio streaming connectivity, and SiriusXM™ Satellite Radio[5] capability.

Voice-Activated GPS Navigation Let the available GPS navigation system know where you’re going and it does the rest. Combined with the capability of All-Wheel Drive, it’s a win-win situation for the road ahead. X-MODE™ Available X-MODE™ adjusts the engine response, monitoring the Symmetrical AllWheel Drive along with the braking and traction control systems to maximize grip on slippery surfaces. It also helps provide additional traction going up steep inclines or going down with Hill Descent Control. SUBARU BOXER® engine Drawn from over 40 years of intelligent performance, the unique SUBARU BOXER® engine has pistons that move side to side, cancelling out each other’s vibrations so it can run smoother and more efficiently. This horizontal layout also offers better balance while delivering a maximum transfer of power. Keyless Access and Start Enjoy the convenience of keeping your key in a pocket or purse and unlock your Forester by touching the door handle. You can also start the engine at the push of a button. Eyesight® Driver Assist Using two cameras mounted by the rearview mirror to monitor traffic, the EyeSight® Driver Assist[6] system reacts to conditions even before you do. An alert will be sounded along with a visual warning when it senses danger of a collision. It even will apply the brakes automatically if you don’t. It can also optimize cruise control and warn when the driver is swaying outside their lane. Another way Subaru technology is looking out for you. Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control Every Forester features standard CFC-free air conditioning and cabin air filtration. The available dual-zone automatic climate control allows you to set your own desired temperature and a differet one for your traveling companion. If only that could happen for choosing music stations. SAFETY Features like the control and handling of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and an extensive protection system show that your safety is always at the forefront of Subaru design. Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive flows power to all wheels simultaneously for maximum traction. And in slippery conditions, it instinctively sends power to the wheels with the best traction, helping you stay on the road and on course. Vehicle Dynamics Control Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a stability control system, automatically senses steering and braking inputs to help keep the vehicle on the driver’s intended path. Smart Braking Systems The Antilock Braking System (ABS) prevents wheel lock-up and helps maintain driver control. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) balances braking, while Brake Assist can sense a panic-stop situation and apply full braking force to help stop faster. Advanced Protection System Every Forester features a total of seven airbags including front, front seat side pelvis/ torso, side-curtain and driver’s knee airbags. The advanced system uses an array of sensors to help deploy the airbags in the most effective way possible.[7] The ring-shaped reinforcement frame is designed to shield and protect in a collision. Made of high-tensile strength steel, it directs impact energy around the passenger compartment, rather than through it.

New 2014 Jeep Polar Edition Jeep has always produced limited edition vehicles and now in 2014 here we go with the newest edition to the Jeep line up. Enter the new Polar Edition Jeep Wrangler. This special edition Wrangler is based off of a Jeep Sahara and features 18 inch alloy wheels, a new front grill and power dome hood. The hood decal details an outline of mountains and a “Polar” badge near the front fender flares. On the badge are the geographical coordinates of Vostok (in Antarctica), the place where the world’s coldest temperatures were recorded. As far as the capabilities go, the Wrangler Polar Edition is equipped with a Dana 30 front axel and a Dana 44 rear axle. It also comes standard with the Trac-Lock antispin rear differential to help you navigate through whatever winter throws your way. Inside the Polar Edition, it features black heated leather seats with white accents throughout the vehicle. It has an all new instrument cluster with the “Polar” logo in the background. The “Polar” logo also appears on the upper front seat backs. The Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition comes in Hydro-Blue Metallic and Bright White, and it is available in either a 2 or 4 Door configuration.
