Dr. Morris Brown Ohio
Dr. Morris Brown, Ohio, born in 1948 in Anniston, Alabama, was raised in a family where overcoming adversity was central to daily life. His mother, a former sharecropper turned nurse's aide, and his father, a laborer and Baptist preacher, instilled a profound sense of duty and resilience in him. These values steered him toward a career in medicine, sparked by his early experiences helping his mother at work and solidified through his academic excellence. He graduated from Meharry Medical School in 1974 and served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, enriching his medical skills. Dr. Brown later led the Family Medicine Residency at Wright State Medical School, significantly impacting healthcare in Dayton, Ohio's marginalized communities. Now retired, he continues advocating for healthcare equity and reform through roles with nonprofits and active participation in the NAACP, all while enjoying chess, jazz, and art.
