Research by Dickinson and Partners presented several unique concepts that were found to be essential in the design for a residential space to incorporate the needs of an autistic family member. Landmarks are used to mark the entrances of spaces or rooms. They can be seen in the gardens: one at the front of the unit, one in the middle with the second bedroom, and a final garden in the back with the; master bedroom. Landmarks were used in conjunction with evident paths to create an organized spatial layout. The one main path through the apartment provides ease of navigation (an essential element as defined in the research).

City Scape
Industrialization of steel and motor vehicles from the Midwest accounted for 80% of total production in the United States. City Scape uses a system of up and down lights pulled abstractly from a map of the Midwest. The upper layer is considered sub- infrastructure, thus it is made up of the smaller network of freeways. This layer is responsible for all up lighting in the conference room. The close proximity to the ceiling and the wide spread beam of light allows for adequate lighting to be reflected into the space. The lower layer is made up of large cities and the main infrastructure connecting them. This layer is responsible for all down lighting. All parts of the fixture are programmed to work either together or separately to reflect the needs of the conference room.

The use of bold, graphic statements with intrusive, in-yourface marketing tactics emphasizes the marketing style of Wieden+Kennedy. Exaggerated interpenetrating planes into solids are also used throughout the open offi ce plan to highlight their marketing strategy.

Cantelivered Planes
Cantelivered planes are incorporated to create a visually dynamic fixture, giving product lines organized by brand, concern, or trend a sense of identity while giving space to display additional product. These cantilevered planes can also be seen in the bold graphics of the white and black stripes with a splash of red; the cantilevered planes highlight the bold company image of Sephora.

Shift
Shifting planes is the basis for this simple wall based storage system. Simplicity of installation and use makes it perfect for any small space looking to maximize on storage. Adjustable wall shelves provide additional storage and the ability to configure the arrangement to fit any space. The fixture is comprised of a series of ash boxes which, when attached the wall, support walnut shelves that can be shifted to provide multiple shelving arrangements. The series of CNC grooves allows for multiple configurations and ease of installation with minimal hardware.

Bar Stool
This piece of furniture was the first project in furniture design and production. Inspired by a flat sheet of plywood, this stool was designed to be flat pack. The pieces are cut out of a single sheet of B-Grade plywood, then sanded and glued for assembly. There are no fasteners in the construction of the stool, only a series of lap joints to hold the different parts together. The final piece can comfortably support the weight of an average individual.

Wood Watch Box
The wood box is designed to house three wrist watches, with the everyday watch located on the cantilevered plane. Constructed materials include a maple base and cantilevered plane, a walnut body, and a walnut and maple lid. There are several joints located in the box: the miter joint, dowel joints, dado joint, and a spline joint. The box is then finished with a simple application of Danish oil.
