Dr. Sudesh Banaji began his medical journey at Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala in Mysore, India, where he excelled in the core sciences. He pursued his medical degree at JJM Medical College at the University of Mysore, followed by a comprehensive internship at Chigateri General Hospital in Davangere. This experience sparked his interest in anesthesiology, leading him to complete his residency at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh. He researched pediatric neuromuscular blocking agents during his residency, which he later published and contributed to pediatric anesthesiology. Seeking to expand his expertise, Dr. Banaji moved to the United States, where he continued his training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, before shifting to internal medicine at East Tennessee State University. In 2000, he established his practice in Forrest City, Arkansas, addressing a critical need for medical services in rural areas. He founded Internal Medicine of Forrest City in 2005, where he introduced advanced care models like the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Comprehensive Primary Care Plus, significantly improving patient care in the community. He is renowned for managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and COPD, employing a patient-centered approach that emphasizes personalized treatment plans. His dedication extends beyond his clinic, as he is actively involved in community service, supporting organizations like St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Autism Society of America.
