Harmonica
Invented by the French physician René Laennec in 1816, the first stethoscope was simply a hollow wooden or ebony tube. The modern version has a plastic diaphragm, which amplifies the sound.
A European adaptation of ancient Chinese and asian reed instruments. The modern harmonica dates from Germany in the 1820s.
Wrapping paper Paper was first made in China in the second century BC and the process was later mechanised in Europe. Our paper is made in Java.
Ping pong balls Thought to have been invented in the USA at the end of the nineteenth century.
Bamboo basket From Bali, Indonesia, where the baskets are used for making offerings at the temple.
Kenkeni + 3 dundun sticks This is a type of dundun drum found in Mali and Guinea in west Africa. Similar double-headed drums are also found in Europe, the Balkans, India, China and Japan.

Take care: The skin is fragile so don’t hit with anything sharp and don’t get it wet (but if you do, it can always be dried out with a hair dryer).
