A brow lift or forehead lift is a procedure designed to restore a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the eye and forehead area. It improves the angry, sad, or tired appearance of the eye area with aging. It also improves the deep wrinkles of the forehead between the eyes.

It is often performed in combination with blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation) or facelift procedures or on its own.

How is a browlift performed?

During this procedure, an incision is made just behind the hairline, excess forehead skin is removed, and the muscles that produce the deep wrinkles are released, producing a smoother appearance of the forehead . Also, the heavy appearance of aging eyes are

improved with this surgery. The brow lift is a powerful method of restoring a youthful and relaxed appearance.

How do I know if I need a browlift?

For many patients, the eye area ages before the rest of the face. The eye area is very important aesthetically because it receives the most attention when we communicate with others. If the eyebrows look as though they are sagging or heavy, and if this look improves by manually raising the forehead skin upward, then, a brow lift should be considered. Also, many patients undergo brow lifting mainly to address the horizontal wrinkles of the forehead and the deep glabellar creases between the eyebrows. Brow lifting improves these wrinkles as well. .

Will I still look like myself after browlifting?

We have all seen examples in Hollywood of “overzealous� brow lifting resulting in an unnatural appearance. Dr. Farahmand selects only those patients who will bene t from brow lifting and takes special care to deliver only natural looking results.

Recovery

Brow lifting is an outpatient procedure. Patients often have eyelid swelling after the surgery, so driving is not allowed until after the swelling has subsided. Dressings are removed after 2 days.

During the rst two days, patients are instructed to use cold compresses to the eyes. Heavy lifting, straining, and exercise are not allowed for the rst few weeks after brow lifting. Patients often return to work between 1 to 2 weeks after surgery.
