Carefully selected operators have rich tactical experience in Special Forces units and are able to work as both armed guards and unarmed consultants. The founder of company is LCDR (R) Sebastian Kalitowski, former team leader of combat divers in Formoza unit and operational officer of Polish Military Intelligence.

OUR EXPERTS - LCDR ( R ) Sebastian Kalitowski: Graduated from the Military Naval Academy at the Navigation and Warship Armoury Department, and also from the University of Social Psychology in Warsaw. He served in the Navy as a combat diver and a commander of the special combat diver unit in “Formoza” unit. A participant in a stability mission in Kosovo. He spent 1.5 years in the Balkans, realizing the tasks connected with counter-terrorism and fighting international organized crime. His interests are connected with the tactics of anti-terrorist actions at sea and the security and protection of ships and port facilities, as well as psychological aspects of terrorism. A lecturer at the University of Szczecin. A yacht and motorboat captain, hand-to-hand combat instructor and paratrooper. - CPT. Piotr Budzynowski: Commander of MV BELUGA NOMINATION— ship hijacked for 82 days. That was one of the most ruthless incidents in 2011; - CPT. Marek Niski: Since he has worked for foreign ship owners, his first ship was general cargo ZIM Line. At 1990 he started working at Norwegian tankers. Afterwards he has started service for middle eastern tanker owners – at first he worked for Iranian NITC, and then for VELA, where he remains employed until now. He was promoted by both companies to the rank of captain. As a captain he was involved in construction of the VLCC tanker at DSME shipyard in Korea. In 2008 CPT Marek NISKI commanded VLCC Sirius Star – the biggest ship ever kidnapped by Somali pirates at high seas, far from declared “high risk area”. He managed to bring home all his crew and the ship with minor damages. Last ship owner’s opinion: “one of our most senior captains and a man we want to keep with us”. - CPT. ( R ) Robert Pawłowski: Former member of Polish naval forces Formoza. He has spent there 13 years of duty. Veteran of wars in Persian Gulf and Afghanistan. Further experience he has gainen at close protection field. Advisor in the project related to Afghan police training. Specialist in tactical training and consulting; - LCDR ( R ) Krzysztof Suchomski: Former naval special forces unit Formoza operator and commander of special tasks section. Served in Special Operations Command and Control Element in Afghanistan as planning officer. Founder of training centers Excalibur and S.W.A.T. - PhD mjr Angelika Szymańska: Military psychologist currently on active duty. At 2003 she got her PHD in military psychology. For a couple of years she has been involved into preparations of military professionals for combat missions – among the others deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. She also works with families of deployed soldiers, as well as with the families of wounded and killed in action. Her area of interest is psychology of terrorism and posttraumatic stress disorder. Her professional experience also includes counseling of piracy victims. 4 / 13

BASIC SAFETY TRAINING STCW 95 Set of four courses compulsory for every seaman who works onboard. All of the trainings are based on models issued by IMO 1.13, 1.19, 1.20, 1.21 · Personal Survival Techniques—20 hours (2,5 days); · Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting—16 hours (2 days); · Elementary First Aid—12 hours (2 days); · Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities—23 hours (3 days); After attendance and passing final tests, participants obtain international certificates issued by Polish authority (Maritime Office). Attednants are needed to wear sport clothes for excercises in the water. *Certificate of Basic Safety Training STCW 95 is obligatory for all who want to issue Seaman’s book (seafarer’s passport) and is valid for 5 years. ** We can conduct renewing Basic Safety Training STCW 95 what 4 days (28 hours) – 7 hours each.

SHIP SECURITY OFFICER Regarding with high amount of pirate attacks at sea, the need of security guards has been increased. However, to make security guards credible and efficient on board, they have to gain specific knowledge about piracy and permitions letting work at the vessel. The most essential document confirming preparation for work as MarSec OPERATOR is SSO certificate.

Training is conducted in accordance with STCW. It’s programme is based on IMO course 3.19 and takes 16 hours. The most important issues what will be considered at the classes are: · Ship Security Plan · Threat Idenrification, Recognition and Response · Ship Security Assessment After full attendance and positive result of final tests participants will receive international certificate issued by Polish authority (Maritime Office). * To issue certificate, one photograph 35x45mm is needed.

ANTI – PIRACY & BMP 4

This course is to provide general knowledge of intelligence situation about piracy in HoA as history and current state of Somali pirates, their modus operandi and equipment. Anti—piracy training course is based on international guidance BMP4 (Best Management Practices against Somali based Piracy). Attendants can get to known with means of passive and active means of security on board, procedures and conditions of conducting maritime security operations and how to cooperate with all the crew, especially officers and how to keep liaison with information centres in case of pirate attack and hostage situation.

ON BOARD TACTICAL TRAINING Tactical activities for all who have never worked on board may be very complex. Although long hours spent at different tactical trainings in military, police or training centers are very useful, MarSec OPERATORS should get to known with new

environment what is the vessel to be able

to use their whole potential at work. Course is prepared by Maritime Safety & Security experts who are the former operators in

naval special forces unit Formoza. Training takes 6 hours and is conducted on board of the ship > 500 BRT. Main contents are: · Vessel construction usage for tactical activities on board · Specification and job description of Vessel Protection Team · Ship Security during entering the High Rish Area · Examples of Rules of Engagement for Vessel Protection Teams

After the course attendants will obtain certificates of taking part in the course. *All attendants are needed to bring their own tactical wear and weapon reproductions.

TACTICAL MARITIME CASUALTY CARE Anti – piracy operations more often are finished with casualties. Sometimes even fatalities. In difficult logistical conditions at sea, fast doctor’s help may be impossible, especially during pirate attack if one of operators get injured. Training programme consists of 2 parts: I. General Emergency Medical Support - Immediate Life Support - Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - Use of Automatic External Defibrillator (AEG)

II. Tactical Maritime Combat Casualty Care - Care Under Fire - Tactical Field Care - Tactical Emergency Medical Support - Combat Evacuation Casualty Care

FIREARMS TRAINING This is a perfect opportunity to familiarise the attendants with environment of shooting on board. Shooting range will be prepared to imitate conditions the same as at the vessel. Training do include: - shooting from the height;

- shooting to the aims imitating pirate units; - elements of dynamic shooting; - adjusting weapons and ammunitions to maritime security conditions.

Training Participants do not receive the weapons only for the shooting time but each Training Participant receives AK 47 (the most popular weapon in vessel protection teams) for the whole training time and is fully responsible for this weapon.

Requirements: - participants shall bring to the Training their own duty belts. - training takes place independently of the weather conditions. - participants shall have the clothes to change. - participants shall bring to the Training their ID-documents and their weapon licences.

OUR BASE Camping Marina PTTK is a four star venue situated at the lakeside in Polish city Szczecin where Maritime Safety & Security will conduct MarSec OPERATOR courses. Distance from railway station is about 8 kilometers, where it is possible to take train or bus to airports in Berlin.

ACCOMMODATION Venue offers for attendants accommodation in well done bungalows prepared for all seasons hosting. There are bathrooms and toilets in the rooms and wifi connection. At the place there is restaurant where there will be given food.
