Bike parking options, such as bike corrals, are highly relevant in the North Williams corridor. With the highest throughput of bicycles in the city, North Williams is a major north-south route. An excellent example of a patio space on the back of a commercial building as proposed in this site plan. A combination of potted plants, umbrellas, and awnings provide shade and an enclosed comfortable eating space for customers.

This historic streetscape includes tall first floors, permeable pavers, a wide sidewalk, and street trees to shade and enclose the pedestrian space.

This building from San Francisco shows an example of a similarly proportioned commercial space with a single floor above that can be used for residential units.
