The assisgment was to design/refurbish the public square by the entrance of the HOTEL PARIS, also a project of the office. The private client is also reactiviting the area with new public spaces. The strategy is to create comfort areas after understaing the movement of the sun and the existing vegetation. At the same time, the play with different materials on the surface tu unify through spaces that flow and pause. The design of the public square was entirely designed and proposed by myself as the images shown.
location. Algarrobo, Chile The assisgment was for a private competition of in the coast of Chile for a residencial complex in Algarrobo. With around 500 apartments, parking space for each, swiming pools, multiple sport court, public areas, elevator, lookouts, resturant and a beach club. My responsability was to design the beach club and resturant at the beach level. As to provide the images and illustrations for the whole complex, exterior and interior ones. The approach was to try to mimetize the maximun with the landscape and to use the most local materials. Stone and wood were the star materials for the project. Creating a sensible architecture with the environment.

location. San Pedro de Atacama, Chile title. Layering Microclimates
Privileged climatic conditions have drawn the international astronom- ical community to the Atacama Desert where the ALMA observatory facilities are sited some 2900 meters above sea level. The high technological achieve- ment of the observatory is in stark contrast to the poor environmental condi- tions and high-energy use of the accommodation provided for the scientists. This project proposes new housing facilities for staff as well as visitors’ facili- ties for tourists. The design proposals draw from the vernacular architecture of the region relying on passive techniques and renewable energy sources.

location. London title. Term 2 Urban Case Studies: Refurbishing the City ROBIN HOOD GARDENS
Large social housing develpments of 60s-70s, architectural landmark of the Brutalism period with the known scheme “streets in the sky that presents high level of unoccpied dwellings and social issues. The refurbishment strategies apply in an urban scale the connection with the public transport and urban network to introduce new uses to revitalize the public realm. As in a building scale to save an architectural icon mantaining the conrete strcuture, reactivation of the forgotten streets in the sky and comun areas located in the vertical elements, and increase the number of dwelling with FElIXIBlE ARCHITECTURE. This with improve both the social and archfitectural quality in Robin Hood Gardens. Subsequently, the felxible new layout and construction scheme are explained showing different flat configurations in order to meet the new current demands. Both the visual and thermal comfort of the new architecutral design are assessed for better preformance spatially and energy (winter and summer, day and night).
