a perfectionist. I am a lover of thoughtful and clever design. I do what I do because I love it; I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. In addition to design, I enjoy photography and typography. I believe in visually pleasing work, but if the visuals do not serve its purpose of communicating, then it has failed. My passion not only lies in creating aesthetically pleasing projects, but also in communicating - both functionally and practically.

noctua coffee The Noctua Coffee owl was drawn by hand, then illustrated in Adobe Illustrator CC. There is a subtle use of the coffee bean shape in the wings of the owl. The different colours represent the various blends that Noctua Coffee offers. Colours are vibrant to stand out against the dark, matte packaging. I used the colour, and the coffee bean shape on the back of the packaging for the intensity meter in order to keep the same experience throughout the entire package.

aesthetics Logo for the Aesthetics Design - a Graphic Design company located in Berrien Springs, Michigan, on the campus of Andrews University. Aesthetics is modern, and creative. The employees are design students of Andrews University.

School of architecture + interior design Word mark logo for the School of Architecture and Interior Design at Andrews University. The type was modified to connote something more modern. The font was is very geometrical to match the nature of contemporary architecture and design.

ubuntu design group Ubuntu Design Group is a company based in South Africa. They are an architecture group whose goal is to build sustainable homes for people in need, in South African communities. Ubuntu means ‘I am because we are’, and they wanted the logo to represent architecture and South African roots. The colour scheme is based on the South African flag, and the pattern is to represent an abstract aerial view.

personal logo For this logo, I started with a serif letter K, then removed and manipulated parts of the letter to make a more unique, abstract letter form. The letter K is seen through the negative space of the shapes that fit together to form a hexagon.

Garden Party This advertisement was made to promote a garden party that prefaced a concert for JJ Heller (recording artist), at Howard Performing Arts Center, at Andrews University.
premiere service gala 12� x 12� print advertisement series for a fund-raiser. Photos are slightly desaturated for a more classy/modern effect. There is a slight pop of red in each of the prints as a visual element. Sans Serif font was chosen to keep the advert modern, and clean.
gender equality poster A minimal design poster series that highlights and brings gender inequality to the surface. Playing with the words “she”, “women”, and “female” to make the poster stand out and easily understood.

While I did some designing in this issue, my primary job was to Art-Direct a team of 7 students, along with my professor both professor at Andrews University.

Envision Magazine Photoshoot These photos are a part of a series that highlights different brands of clothing. This photo spread is in Envision Magazine published and designed by students at Andrews University. This photo series won an award for Best Photography (Society of Adventist Communicators).

Self Portrait series For this photo series, I wanted to explore being in control of all the studio lighting, composition, and finally, taking self portraits - something I hadn’t explored up to this point. I also wanted to experiment with various textures.

product PHOTOGRAPHY These photos were taken as an advertisement for a product. When taking these photos, I decided to strip away anything that would distract from the products advertised - the watch, and tie. I also left a lot of white space for any type that may go onto the advertisement.

Jessica Walsh This photo series was inspired by Jessica Walsh. I asked my models to choose a quote that is meaningful to them. I then proceeded to paint the typography onto their bodies by hand, then photographed them.

oleg dou seven deadly sins After learning and practicing Oleg Dou’s digital painting style, I proceeded to implement this style onto a series that I photographed. The Seven Deadly Sins.
