We have developed our own fermentation technologies that are based on ancient Asian craftsmanship but adapted and fine-tuned to create a range of plant-based, natural and flavorful products, with a uniquely Nordic touch. Our award-wining Nordic Tempeh and Condiments are one of a kind. They can be found on the menu of several Michelin star restaurants in Denmark, while also featuring in popular meal boxes and via private and public food service providers. What makes Nordic Tempeh unique is the fact that it is not a mock-meat or a meat replacement product – it is its very own thing, a tasteful sensory boost to the world of plant-based products, proving that plant-based foods can succeed on their own merits, and not just as a faux-meat. Our umami-packed Nordic Condiments resemble Asian style soy sauces and miso pastes, while reflecting the Nordics in both taste and ingredients, as it is 100% locally produced. Crispeas is a food startup creating innovative snacks that are healthy for the body and for the planet. Crispeas are both health and environmentally sustainable. Our chips are low in fat, salt and calories while being high in proteins and fibers, with no added oils. Additionally our main ingredient is legumes due to the low water footprint.

Dachi is a behavior change app for social media addiction. Users can listen to psychoeducational content stemming from cognitive behavioral therapy, designed to change their behavior and reduce their social media use. According to the research and our testing, users get back one hour every day from social media.

dQmetrics is developing a wearable wristband, which can track the food calorie intake automatically. Via our app, users will be able see how each meal contritubes to their daily calorie balance. We want to make it easier for people to achieve a succesful and sustainable weight loss.
MedTech start-up optimizing intravenous (IV) medicine treatment with a low-tech solution. 20-40% of the total IV medicine dose is usually wasted due to a 20 ml dead space in IV tubing. To mitigate this patient risk nurses need to manually flush IV tubings which is unrealistic with the growing global nurse shortage. SafeFlush solves this problem with a purely mechanical solution without any moving parts. We’re a dedicated team of 5 professionals working to bring this product to market with an estimated product launch in 2024/25.

The electric car is about to change. Not only in how we produce the electric cars but also why. We are GUSTAU. We believe that it is not enough just to go electric when going sustainable. We believe that electric cars must drive further while using less energy. Our overall goal is to keep reducing the kWh/km consumption to ensure that our cars can take you whereever you want with as little energy spent as possible. AIRY is our first prototype that will use less than 9.5 kWh per 100km according to the WLTP cycle. Far less than any other electric vehicle today. We have created a unique sample holder for electron microscopy, consisting of a nano chip which prevents liquid from evaporating inside the microscope by encapsulating it between ultra thin, transparent membranes. Our problem starts out with 14M tons of plastic that is ending up in our water bodies each year globally. With our purpose to protect sea life and save the aquatic ecosystem, we are on a mission to build an autonomous underwater drone that can retrieve plastic debris effectively by using intelligent vision, while replacing traditional methods at a fraction of their cost. Whenever a plastic container ends up in the environment, as for instance in areas of the world with unstructured waste management programs, it takes 450 years to degrade. In the meantime microplastics travel up the food chain until they end up on our plates. In addition, plastics production is obtained from crude oil, which is not a sustainable resource, using energy intensive processes. The world needs a beverage packaging solution that is biodegradable, neutral from a resource usage perspective, which can be produced with low energy usage. The solution is a biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, sustainable paper bottle that is less energy demanding than PET and glass. Our solution is a paper bottle with impermeable barrier inside and outside, where the container degradation is triggered at opening. The process developed by the PAPIRO team can produce both paper shells and capping elements, allowing standard coatings already used in plastic bottles to be used. The PAPIRO bottle will be compatible with existing filling lines, thereby minimizing economic barriers for uptake by beverage producers.

WAGER - Waste Anaesthetic Gas Elimination Reactor – Direct destruction of anaesthetic gases The idea in a nutshell: The purpose of this startup is to create a strong basis for establishing WAGER as a spin-off from DTU. Our starting point is a novel prototype with use of gas-task advanced oxidation for removal of waste anaesthetic gases before they are released into the atmosphere. Inhalation of anaesthetic gases are indispensable in modern healthcare. However, these gases are potent greenhouse gases with up to 2.000 times the climate impact of CO2. In Europe alone, the emission of the gases amounts to 6.6 million tons CO2 per year. In this project, we will develop a WAGER unit to be placed at hospitals, based on our successful first-generation prototype. WAGER is rooted in a crossacademic collaboration between DTU and KU, along with clinical expertise from the Capital Region of Denmark. In previous feasibility tests conducted at lab-scale, our WAGER technology has reached Proof-of-concept, destroying 90% of used anaesthetic gases and with conversion of these into eco-friendly and harmless by-products. WAGER’s goal is to develop a minimum viable product MVP ready for testing in hospitals as a critical step to market introduction.
