Dear Members of the esteemed Club,

Survival, resilience, foresight, this is what we are made of, 2022 seemed like Covid never happened and that only shows life goes on irrespective what happens. 2023 looks promising from many aspects and as we embark into the ‘new’, we can only wish for better times

I extend my sincere good wishes to all associates of Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club as we celebrate its 30th anniversary year.

I feel privileged yet humbled by being selected as the Lady Captain of Dubai Creek and definitely excited to take this torch forward while closely working my fellow Men’s Captain Gene Cha in the coming days.

Golf happened to me, that’s how I can put my first experience, being an athlete all my life, I always thought Golf was not for me as I believed it was not as fast paced as I would have liked. I attribute my introduction to Tauseef who is also a member of the club since 2011 as he handed over a club one fine day and asked me to have a go. There was no looking back in life, I had just stumbled upon a sport which would become my passion for life. On a lighter note, my family had their doubts if I would ever be able to play at this level and would quit soon. My father played hockey, my brother played cricket so golf was never a common discussion topic. Now when I look back, the best things in life were never planned and golf being that very best thing for me.

Dubai creek celebrates its ‘Pearl anniversary’ this year, The First Ladies monthly medal is playedon 11th Jan , followed by The Ladies ICC round 2’ will be played at Montgomerie on the 18th Jan.

I would also like to thank my good friend Bea for her support and guidance through 2022 and I look forward to working with my lady Vice Captain Janet Kim in the coming months and leveraging her experience in delivering a good year for the club.

I leave you with a quote ladies, “Set your heights more than what you see around you, see beyond.” Anthony Anderson.

Thanks Shiba
