LINCOLN OPEN 2022

Emirates Golf club played host to the 2022 Lincoln Open on the Faldo course. The event was the first tournament of the new season played under night golf conditions. A total of 78 golfers took part in the event under the floodlights.
Despite the night golf conditions, the scoring was very competitive across the field. Oliver Ravenscroft continued his recent winning form with another first place today. Ollie shot a round of 2 under par around a tough Faldo course to win the event by three points. Runners up on the event by virtue of back nine countback is Parnav Rai. Pranav played a solid round with five net birdies and a net eagle on the last. Third place on the day went to Russell Yeomans. Russell clinched third place on back nine countback by a single point on the back nine.
The field was split into two Divisions for this year’s event. The winner of the A Division with a score of 35 points is Cavit Yildiz. Cavit navigated his way around the Faldo course carding four net birdies and a net eagle to win the Division A top prize. Runner up prize for the Division A goes to Yves Bouchard. Yves matched the winning score of 35 points and just lost out on the top spot by back 6 countback. Division B was won by George Clarke with a score of 34 points. George carded 5 birdies on the day to win the divisional top spot by back nine countback. The runners up spot of the B Division went to Apoorva Ghandi. Apoorva matched the winning score or 34 points and just lost out by back nine countback.
We had two on course events set up for today’s event. Nearest the pin on the second was won by Leo Thessen and longest drive on hole 11 was won by James Yeomans.
LADIES HALLOWEEN SCRAMBLE

The Ladies Halloween Scramble took place at the Emirates golf club on our Faldo Course. A total of 88 ladies took part in a particularly scary four ball scramble event. The winning team on the day is the team of Arathi Appaiah, Nicsha Rodriguez, Ingrid Lind and Sabine Chaudry. Arathi and her team played a very good round of golf eleven net birdies and four net eagles to win to finish with a score of 55 points. A victory by four shots over the runner up team.
Runners up for the event are the team of Sonal Ghandi, Avani Ghandi, Apoorva Ghandi and Ninu Smith. The ladies carded five birdies and an eagle on the back nine to finish with 51 points but was enough to claim the top spot on the day. Third place was the team of Sulafa Hamdan, Amarjeet Radia, Jayshree Gupta and Glory Xavier. The ladies carded ten net birdies on the day along with two net eagles which helped them to a score of 50 points.
The best team on the day was by no means an easy decision. All of the ladies made a great effort for the day with some great outfits and looks for the occasion. Despite the fierce competition, there was a winning team. The winners of the best dressed team for the 2022 Halloween scramble are Christiane Sprunk, Anne Gely Bouigue, Noemy Bertuol and Nonita Chand.
The on-course events on display for the day were a fitting match for the occasion. The first was a “Nearest the Dead Monk” event on the third hole. Hitting it closest on the day is Marie Benson. The second on course event was “Nearest the Skeleton” on the thirteenth hole. Arathi Appaiah was the winner after hitting it closest on the day. Final on course event for the day was the “Nearest the Crazy Clown” on hole sixteen. The winner of this event is Kiyono Taniuchi.
DIWALI SCRAMBLE

Emirates Golf club played host to this year’s annual Diwali Scramble. A full field of 144 players took part in the four-ball scramble format around a tough Majlis course set up.
The event winners with a fantastic score of 20 under par are the team of Russell Curtis, Dean Hall, Victoria Johnson and Mike Kaye. Russell and his team played a flawless round with 10 net birdies and five net eagles to claim the top spot in the event by two shots. The runner’s up spot for the event goes to the team of Gary Black, Paul Byrne, David Ringrose and Alistair McMillan.
Gary and his team navigated their way around the Majlis course in 18 under par with eight net birdies and a net eagle on the back nine to win the runners up prize by two shots. Third place for the event went to the team of Tej Chhabra, Naima Maya, Bill Wong and Martha Wong. Tej and his team had a very strong finish with two net eagles and two net birdies on the final four holes to claim third spot for the event.
In the spirit of Diwali, there were a total of six on course events on the day. Nearest the Pins on all Par 3’s and Longest Drives on holes #12 and #3. Jayshree Gupta proved her accuracy once again by claiming the Nearest the Pin on holes #4 and #11.
Gary Black won Nearest the Pin on #7 and Hitesh Bhayani was closest on hole 15 after a wonderful mid iron. Nicsha Rodriguez won the longest drive for the ladies on hole #12 and Rohit Gupta won longest drive on hole #3.
LINCOLN DUBAI GOLF PRO-AM GRAND FINAL

Emirates Golf club played host to this year’s Lincoln Dubai Golf Pro-Am Grand Final. A total of 25 teams made it through the qualifying stages at Dubai Creek, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Emirates Golf Club competed for the grand prizes around the Majlis course.
The event winners with a fantastic score of 90 points are the team of Zi Hao, Asif Raza, Bayer Khan and Mustafa Khan. Zi and his team played a very solid round and with the help of 7 points accumulated on the 18th hole, helped them claim the winning spot by one single point. The runner’s up spot for the event goes to the team of Jackson Bell, Chris Hoare, Bryce Long and Sven Brooks. Jackson and his team navigated their way around the Majlis course with a total of 89 points. The team carded a great score of 47 points on the front nine and held on to win second place by four points. Third place for the event with a score of 85 points went to the team of Michael Major, Dean Hall, Victoria Johnson and Russell Curtis. Mickey and his team carded 44 points on the back nine which was just enough to edge third place on back nine count-back.
The Pro-Am Event also ran a separate stroke play tournament for the professionals. With a score of 71 (1 under par) Michael Major claimed the top spot amongst the professionals on the day. His score of 71 good enough for a two shot victory. All with a score of 73 (One over par); Cian Hurley, Olivia Jackson and Diarmaid Fraser finished the event in a tie for second place. The final prizes for the professional category went to Steve Munro and David Gray who finished in tied fifth for the event.
There were a total of three on course events on the day. Nearest the Pins on the Par 3 seventh hole and Longest Drives on holes #10 (Ladies) and #16 (Gents). Brett Kraetzer proved his accuracy once again by claiming the Nearest the Pin on the seventh hole. Nicsha Rodriguez won the longest drive for the ladies on hole #10 and Anil Shivanna won longest drive on hole #16.
LADIES INTER CLUB CHALLENGE

LADIES NOVEMBER MEDAL 2022
Emirates Golf Club played host to the 2022 Ladies November Medal tournament held on the Majlis course. The penultimate ladies medal tournament of the calendar year yielded the highest field to date in the 2022/23 season with a total of 47 ladies taking part in the event.
On a day with high scoring being the prevailing theme throughout the day, Division A crowned a new medal winner for this season with Nonita Chand coming out on top of the Division. Nonita played a very solid round with a total of 6 net birdies on the day to shoot a net score of 69. Good enough to win the Division by one shot. The runners up spot in the Silver Division goes to Victoria Anikina. Victoria was steady through the round. Despite a net bogey on the first hole, she closed out the front nine with birdies on the eighth and ninth and added three more net birdies on the back nine to finish with a score of 70 net. Third place in the division A went to Wonjeong Lee. Wonjeong had a very strong start to her round the majlis course with four net birdies in the first five holes. Wonjeong played consistently from then on to finish with a net score of 71 for the event.
The winner of the Division B medal is Margret Breen. Mags navigated her way around the Majlis course with a total of six net birdies on the day to finish with a score of 70. Second place and runners up spot for the division goes to Avani Shah. Avani had a very strong finish to her round with five net birdies on the back nine to take second place by virtue of back nine countback. Third place in the B division goes to Deirdre Kemp. Deirdre shot a net score of 71 on the day with a total of five net birdies, four of which coming on the back nine.
The Bronze Division medal goes to Marie Benson. Marie was the model of consistency on the day with making only two net bogeys on the day along with three net birdies and a net eagle on the tenth helped her to top her division by one shot. Runners up spot in the Bronze division goes to Kiyono Taniuchi with a score of 70 net. Kiyono finished strongly with a net birdie on the eighteenth hole which was enough to claim second place by virtue of back nine countback.
The best gross score on the day goes to Glory Xavier. Glory navigated the Majlis course in a total of 80 gross. Glory birdies the tenth and eleventh holes consecutively helping her to win the gross prize on the day by a considerable margin. There was also a raffle prize up for grabs on the day. Maria Petra had the luck on her side with her name being drawn out of the hat to claim the prize.

Emirates Golf Club played host to the 2022 November Medal tournament sponsored by OMA Emirates in association with Christies international Real Estate held on the Majlis course. A total of 66 players took part in the second to last men’s Medal tournament of 2022.
On a day with high scoring being the prevailing theme throughout the day, Division A (Handicap 10 and below) crowned a new medal winner for this season with Ashok Sindhu coming out on top of the division. Ashok played a very solid round with a total of three net birdies on the day and one net eagle on the tenth on the day to shoot a net score of 74. Good enough to claim the top spot on back nine countback. The runners up spot in the Silver Division goes to Zach Gould. Zach was steady through the round. Despite a bogey on the third hole, he closed out the front nine with net birdies on the sixth and eighth and added two more net birdies on the back nine to finish with a score of 74 net. Third place in the division A went to Ken Newell. Ken had a very strong start to his round the majlis course with a net birdie on the first hole and followed up with three more net birdie throughout the round to finish the event with a net score of 75.
The winner of the Division B (handicap 11 to 20) medal is Nik Joharris. Nik navigated his way around the Majlis course with a total of seven net birdies on the day to finish with a score of 69. Second place and runners up spot for the division goes to Shelton Sacrafamilia. Shelton had a very strong finish to his round with a net birdie and net eagle on the closing five holes to take second place for the division by one shot. Third place in the B division goes to Patrick Mulligan. Patrick shot a net score of 72 on the day with a total of four net birdies, two of which coming on the back nine. The Bronze Division (handicap 20 – 28) medal goes to Peter Oliver. Peter played well throughout the day with four net birdies a net eagle on the day to take the top spot in his division by one shot with a score of 77 net.
The best gross score on the day goes to Raghav Gulati. Raghav navigated the Majlis course in a total of 74 gross. Raghav birdied eighth, thirteenth and fourteenth holes on the way to a two over par round and the Gross Prize for the event. There was also a stableford prize up for grabs today. With a stableford score of 35 points, Nicolas Little was the winner. There were four Nearest the Pin prizes available today on all par threes. Shawn Staton was the closest on the fourth hole. Derek Kemp after a wonderful mid iron won the prize for the seventh hole, Alex Rodriguez picked up the prize for nearest on the eleventh, and Rohail D’Souza hit a long iron to a few feet on the fifteenth, good enough to take the final Nearest the Pin Prize of the day.
LADIES WEEKEND STABLEFORD

Emirates Golf Club hosted the Ladies Stableford Competition on the Faldo Course. A total of 32 ladies took part in the singles stableford event.
The overall winner of the event with a score of 35 points is Naima Maya. Over the past number of weeks, Naima has proven herself a usual feature among the events prize places. With the help of three net birdies and a net eagle in the final 5 holes, Naima navigated her way around the Faldo course in a total of 35 points. Claiming the top spot on the day by one point.
The winner of the Silver Division by virtue of back nine countback with a score of 34 points is Monica Palao. Monica started strong with a birdie on the par 5 third hole and carried that form throughout the round. Monica brought home an impressive 19 points on the back nine with was enough to edge the top spot in her division.
The winner of the Bronze Division with a score of 33 points is Caroline Granger. Caroline played a solid round consisting of five net birdies which helped her win her division by one single stableford point.
CLUBHOUSE TROPHY

Emirates golf club played host to the 2022 Clubhouse trophy. A total of 89 golfers took part in the event around a tough Majlis Course.
The winner of the event, with an impressive score of 40 points is Karan Badami. Karan carded 6 net birdies on the day to claim top spot by virtue of back nine countback. The runner up for the event was Boris Korshunov. Boris got off to a fast start with 5 net birdies in the first seven holes and held on to match the winning score of 40 points but just losing out to a better back nine by Karan. Third place in the overall division went to George Clarke. George carded seven net birdies on the day against four net bogeys to bring home a score of 39 points.
The A Division included all golfers with a handicap of 15 and below was won by Tauseef Khan. Tauseef played a very solid round of golf including three net birdies and a net eagle on the fifth to take the Division A prize by a single point. Runner up in the division is Asif Raza. Asif carded a solid round including three net birdies to claim the runners spot in Division A.
Division B top spot went to Dmitry Korshunov. Dmitry carded four birdies and two net eagles on the day to secure top spot in the division. Runners up spot in the event was won by Pranav Rai. Pranav navigated his way around the Majlis course with five net birdies to bring in a score of 37 points and take the runners up spot for this year’s Division B category.
There was a Nearest the Pin event on hole eleven today. There was also a big hole in one prize available on the day with the lucky winner receiving an all-expenses paid trip to Ireland and rounds of golf on the top eight courses in the country. Unfortunately, none of the players had the luck on their side. David Moody hit the best shot of the day on eleven and claimed the Nearest the Pin prize for the event.

The 2022 Emirates Mixed Amateur Open sponsored by Al Dobowi which whom we are celebrating their 29th year of sponsoring events with Emirates Golf club. A total of 90 players took part in the event with a format of Greensomes around a tough Majlis course.
The winning team on the day is the team of Paul Bryne and Victoria Anikina. Paul and Victoria played a very solid round consisting of ten net birdies to bring in a net score of 64 to claim victory in the event by a single stroke. Runner’s up spot was won by the team of Connie Sayal and Nalin Sayal. Connie and Nalin carded nine net birdies on the day and carded a 65 to take runners up spot on the day. Third place prize was won by the team of Oliver Ravenscroft and Nadini Veerasamy. Ollie and Nadini carded three birdies on the day against no bogeys to card a score of 69 to take third place. There were four on course event prizes to be won on the course today. Two nearest the pin prizes on holes #4 and #11 for the ladies and holes #7 and #15 for the gents. Anne Gely Bouigue won Nearest the Pin on the fourth. Shiba Khan claimed the Nearest the Pin on the eleventh after a wonderful long iron shot. Nearest the pins for the gents on holes #7 and #15 were won by Ollie Ravenscroft and Gurbax Singh respectively.

LADIES HERITAGE TROPHY
November 2022
Emirates Golf Club played host to the Ladies Heritage 2022 trophy over the last two weeks. The heritage trophy is an annual two round tournament held as in celebration of the heritage of both the Emirates Golf Club and the Lady Captain for the season, for 2022, it was held in joint celebration with Lady captain Maria Arias’ wonderful Peruvian heritage. Marivi was kind enough to provide framed replicas of ancient Peruvian masks worn by Pre-Incan tribal chiefs as prizes.
The first round was held on the Faldo course on Tuesday the 15th of November. The ladies were playing to make their way as high up the leaderboard as possible ahead of round two. Arathi Appiah came out on top after day one with a score of 39 points. Arathi played a very solid round without a single bogey on her card. She played the front nine with nine straight net pars and followed it with three net birdies on the back nine to bring home a score of 39 points. Runners up spot on the day was Yulia Golubeva with a score of 37 points. Yulia edged out over Glory Xavier in third place on back nine countback.
The second round of the Heritage trophy took place today on the Majlis course with an 8.30am shotgun start. The draw was set up with the leaders starting in final group on the first hole. Continuing her impressive winning form of late and following up her leading score of 39 with a second round of 36 was Arathi Appaiah.
Arathi navigated the Majlis course with 5 net birdies on the day to win the heritage trophy by 2 points. In second place is Yulia Golubeva. Yulia built upon her first round of 37 in round two. Yulia had a very strong start with three net birdies in the first four holes. Adding three more net birdies on the back nine, Yulia finished with a strong score of 36 points.
Taking the third and final overall prize for the day is Birgit Baur – Galliziol. Birgit shot a season best score of 43 points on round two to work her way through the field and finish in third place. Birgit played a flawless round on the Majlis course with four net eagles and two net birdies to finish with 43 points.
There were prizes for the best round on day 1 and day 2. The best score on Day 1 that did not feature in the overall prizes was Glory Xavier. Glory sadly could not play on day 2 to compete for the trophy, however her 37 points on day 1 was good enough to take the prize for the best score on day 1. The final prize of day was for the best score on day 2 that didn’t feature in the overall prizes. With a score of 39 points, the winner of the best score on day 2 goes to Maria Petra. Maria had a very strong closing stretch with five net birdies in the final 10 holes to win the prize on the day.

MIXED CHRISTMAS SCRAMBLE

Emirates Golf Club hosted the 2022 Mixed Christmas Scramble. There was a full field of 36 teams who took part in the festive event on our Faldo course.
With an impressive score of 18 under par for the day, our winning team are Manish Bakshi, Ayush Bakshi, Manoj Shivnani and Varun Sood. Manish and his team played solidly from the start of the round carding nine net birdies on the day along with five net eagles to finish one shot ahead of the second place.
The runners up for the event are the team of Dmitriy Korshunov, Adilbek Jaxybekov, Alexander Tikhonov and Mustafa Khan. Dmitriy and his team matched the pace set by the leaders all day. The team finished the day with 10 net birdies and three net eagles totalling a score of 17 under par. Third place on the day with a score of 16 under par is the team of Raj Janardhan, Edouard Mayer, Arbaaz Ahmad and Afzaal Ahmad. Raj and his team finished the round with 10 net birdies on the day and three net eagles coming in the final five holes helping them to a 16 under par score and the third place prize on back nine countback.
We had seven on course events today. The first event on the course was the Nearest the Snowman on hole #2. This was won by Zahid Noorani after a tremendous long iron. The longest drive for the ladies was placed on hole #7 today. Taking home the prize is Nicsha Rodriguez. Nearest the Christmas Gift was placed on hole #8 today, after a nice mid iron shot, Fred Lum was closest for the day and took home the prize. Tracey Gregory won the Nearest the Santa on hole #9.
Straightest Drive was set up on hole #10 today. After a wonderful with the ball finishing on the line, Sophia Zbiri won the prize for the straightest drive today. Longest Drive for the gents was held on hole #16 today, Graham Pascal was the winner today after a near 300 yard drive. The final on course event of the day is the Nearest the Christmas Tree on hole #17.
Todays winner is Akash Kumar after a great long iron finishing only a few yards away.

Emirates Golf Club played host to the OMA Emirates December Monthly Medal in association with Christies International Real Estate Dubai. A total of 90 players took to the Faldo course in an effort to take home the final medal of the 2022 calendar year.
Taking the top prize of the Overall Best Net medal is Suresh Shewakramani of Division C (hcap. 21 and above) with an overall net score of 67. Suresh carded an incredible 11 net birdies on the day to take home the best net score of the event.
David Waite clinched the division A (hcap 10 and below) prize with a net score of 70. David navigated the back nine in a level par gross to win over our runner up Aditya Kushalapa out on back nine countback. Aditya had four net bridies and two net eagles on the day to equal the winning score however it wasn’t enough to claim this year’s top spot. Third place was sealed by Andrew Robinson with a 71 net. Andrew claimed the prize by one single stroke over fourth place. The overall winner of the Division B (hcap 11 to 20) was won by Uttam Chand with a net 71. Uttam carded six net birdies on the day with three of them coming in the last four holes. Adlibek Jaxybekov was this years’ Division B runner up, also with a net score of 71. Adilbek had a very solid day on the Faldo course carding three net birdies against two net bogeys to match the winning score but was just pipped by our winner on back nine countback. Adel Hamdan carded a very respectable net 72 on the day to take this years’ third place.
Zach Gould won the best gross prize shooting a very impressive 72 gross to win out over the rest by a single stroke. Zach played solidly all day with five birdies on the day matched with five bogeys to finish with a level par 72.
The gents stableford event was won by Sudhir Vora with a score of 40 points. Sudhir played a very solid round today with nine net birdies on the day, six of which coming on the front nine.
The winner of the Ladies Stableford Overall Net for the day was Sulafa Hamdan with an impressive 35 points. Sulafa carded a four net birdies on the day to win the event by two shots over runners up spot. The Silver Division was won by Maura Duggan with a score of 33 points. The bronze division was won by Jasmin Fichte who took it home with a score of 31 points.
We had four on course events today. There were Nearest the Pin prizes on all par 3’s. Shelton Sacrafamilia was closest on the par 3 second hole after an accurate long iron approach. Kush Sama was closest on the 8th hole. Sanjay Dhandsa took the prize for being the closest on the twelfth and Ravi Khanna ended the day with picking up the voucher for closest on the 17th hole.
There were prizes for the best round on day 1 and day 2. The best score on Day 1 that did not feature in the overall prizes was Glory Xavier. Glory sadly could not play on day 2 to compete for the trophy, however her 37 points on day 1 was good enough to take the prize for the best score on day 1. December 2022
Emirates Golf Club played host to the 2022 Ladies December Medal tournament held on the Faldo course. The final ladies medal tournament of the calendar year surpassed the November Medal as the highest field to date in the 2022/23 season with a total of 50 ladies taking part in the event. On a day with high scoring being the prevailing theme throughout the day, Division A crowned a new medal winner for this season with Anne Gely Bouigue coming out on top of the Division. Anne Gely played a very solid round with a total of 6 net birdies on the day to shoot a net score of 68. Good enough to win the Division by one shot. The runners up spot in the Silver Division goes to Jayshree Gupta.
Jayshree was steady through the round. Despite two net bogeys in the first three holes, she closed out the front nine with net birdies on the fifth and seventh and added two more net birdies on the back nine to finish with a score of 71 net. Third place in the division A went to Nicsha Rodriguez. Nicsha navigated her way around the Faldo course with five net birdies on the day to finish with a net score of 76.
The winner of the Division B medal is Rekha Bandopadhyay. Rekha navigated her way around the Faldo course with a total of four net birdies on the day to finish with a score of 77. Second place and runners up spot for the division goes to Caroline Granger. Caroline played a solid round with three net birdies to finish with a net 77 and losing out on top spot on back nine countback. Third place in the B division goes to Margaret Breen. Margaret shot a net score of 78 on the day with a total of four net birdies. The Bronze Division medal goes to Tomoko Ito. Tomoko had an up and down round but capitalized on good shots making six net birdies on the day. Runners up spot in the Bronze division goes to Colette Muttoni with a score of 75 net.
The best gross score on the day goes to Arathi Appaiah. Arathi navigated the Faldo course in a total of 75 gross. Arathi had a brilliant finish with birdied on the seventeenth and eighteenth to finish the round 3 over par gross. The winner of the stableford prize on the day was Najla Bartette with a score of 32 points. Christiane Verhaagen had the luck on her side when her name was picked out as the raffle prize winner for the day. LADIES CHRISTMAS SCRAMBLE

Emirates Golf Club hosted the final event for the Ladies’ Club prior to the break for the holidays, the 2022 Ladies Christmas Scramble. A total of 69 ladies took part in the event on the Faldo course with all of the players dressing up in festive outfits for the occasion.
The winning team with a score of 58 are the team of Apoorva Gandhi, Avani Shah, Chantelle De Villiers and Fari Sayeed. Apoorva and the team played well all day with eleven net birdies and one net eagle on the day to win the event on back nine countback over second place.
The runners up for the event are the team of Michelle Champlin, Sabine Chaffer and Pi San Capatt. Michelle and her team matched the pace set by the leaders all day, finishing the round with a net score of 58, equaling the winning score but came up just short on back nine countback.
Third place on the day with a net score of 59 is the team of Maria Arias, Maribel Xammer, Naima Maya and Christiane Verhaagen. Marivi and her team finished the round with nine net birdies and two net eagles on the day to seal third place by one shot over the rest of the field. As is tradition for the Ladies Christmas Scramble, we had some visiting players from the sister clubs within Dubai Golf as well as some Absentee Life members coming to take part in the event. There was a prize available for teams that consisted of visiting players. This year, the prize was won by the team of Kiyono Taniuchi, Haide Wright, Roma Khanna and absentee life member Cheh Ngim Ratcliffe.
All of the ladies arrived to the club in some wonderful Christmas themed outfits for the day. There were some brilliant snowmen and Christmas tree outfits but the winners of the fancy dress competition goes to Sulafa Hamdan, Jayshree Gupta, Glory Xavier and Amarjeet Radia. The ladies arrived in wonderful snow globe outfits that they made themselves.
There were two on course events up for grabs today. First was a Nearest the Santa on hole #4. That was won by Rajni Sud. The second on course event was a Nearest the Christmas Gift on hole #17, that was won by Naima Maya.
