Aside from our new Champion who joins the other Champions as an honorary member of Emirates Golf Club, Falcon Golf created the best hospitality chalets around the 18th green that we have ever had, with a view of our iconic clubhouse as well as wonderful, social areas such as Barasti at the back of the par 3 15th, public area with bar service on the 18th, a revamped international village and the on-course hospitality areas at the back of the 14th and the 6th which were also greatly improved. The Dubai Desert Classic was the very first European Tour event in the Middle East and Asia when it was staged in 1989 and what a difference there has been in 30 years. Firstly, the course has changed dramatically, having matured so much over the years but it really has become a great test of golf for amateurs and professionals alike. Congratulations to Matt Perry and the Golf Course Maintenance team who worked tirelessly in the lead up to the event to present an absolutely immaculate course so congratulations to you and I hope you are all now enjoying a well deserved rest! I have been at all 30 Desert Classic events so it’s interesting to compare then and now. Then, there were so few spectators that there was absolutely no need for grandstands; many members volunteered as marshals but actually we had very little to do with so few people watching. The hospitality chalets were situated in porta-cabins in the main car park in the early years, so they were not even overlooking the finishing hole. I am convinced that many of the players, for the first year or two, had no idea where Dubai was even, except that it was in the Middle East. It was relatively unknown in Europe and people assumed it was all part of Saudi Arabia then which would have been the only Middle Eastern country many people would have heard of. Little did we know then that the Dubai Desert Classic helped to put Dubai on the map and for it to pave the way for golf and tourism in a big way. My other memories are of some us members caddying for players (many players did not even bother to bring caddies with them then) and we were allowed to put the bags on trollies, which certainly would have looked very unprofessional on TV. I remember Ewan Murray commentating one time when the cameras zoomed in on one of our members who was caddying (I won’t name names here!) and he was saying what a great caddie this member would be as he was a good player who knew the course inside out...as he said this on air and, with the cameras still zooming in, the caddie was walking down a slope when the trolley tipped over, the bag fell off and the clubs sprayed all over the place, at which point Ewan Cameron said “Well, he used to be a good caddie”. Fun times then and there are many more stories to be told...and photos too!! Roll on 30 years and we have a very professional set-up, many top class players and a magnificent course that we should all be very proud of - I know I am! Having been playing this course for almost 31 years, I still consider this to be my number one...every hole is different and no matter how many times I play it, I could never tire of it...a sign of a great course but I know I am biased! Now back to reality and our Club golfing events of which there are many over the next weeks and months, including men’s and ladies’ Club Championships, Captains’ days, Medals etc. Please check the tournament calendars and sign up in advance as these events are often oversubscribed. Don’t forget also the many social events that are taking place...enjoy every moment of this fantastic Club!

I hope you had the opportunity to attend all or some of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and I’m sure that you will share my view that the 30th Anniversary of the event was one of the best ever! Congratulations to Bryson Dechambeau for producing a fabulous performance around our Majlis course especially in the final round to post a record winning score of 24 under par. With the nearest challenger, Matt Wallace, seven shots back on 17 under par it was for sure an impressive performance by the American with a 64 in the final round. For those of you who have followed the illustrious champions of the famous Dallah Trophy you will be aware that ten major champions have lifted the trophy and for sure Bryson will join that list, maybe this season! Could he be the third winner of the Classic/US Masters double in four seasons, following Willett and Garcia to put on the green jacket in April!?? A big thank you to you all for supporting the tournament especially those who volunteered during the event. A special mention to members Boyd Edmondson and Alan Davidson for their considerable

support of both the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega Dubai Ladies Classic over many years. Boyd has been a key figure in the marshaling of the event alongside Cian Hurley and Alan has managed the scoring team; thank you for your effort and dedication to the success of the events. It would be remiss of me not to mention Matthew Perry at this point and his team of dedicated Golf Course Maintenance colleagues who delivered the Majlis course in peak condition for the 30th Anniversary event. Both Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood (in his 24th event) stated it was the best they had seen the course so massive congratulations to Matt and Mario. Since moving up Sheikh Zayed road from our sister club Dubai Creek, Matt has done a superb job on the courses and has introduced a number of changes to help improve the playing surfaces of both the Majlis and Faldo. The final thank you must go to the team from Falcon who organised and staged a fabulous tournament. Congratulations to Greg Sproule, David Spencer, Graham Glynn, Katie Jackson and your team for introducing many positive changes, in particular the new and improved 9th and 18th hospitality chalets which were well received. I personally feel (and many members commented on the same) that it was marvelous to have an atmosphere around our iconic 9th and 18th greens

in addition to having our clubhouse on display between the structures. Well done Falcon!

The 30th Omega Dubai Desert Classic was staged last month producing a great winner in Bryson DeChambeau who blew away the rest of the field winning by seven shots from his nearest challenger, Matt Wallace and creating a tournament record score of 24 under. Bryson DeChambeau became our new champion and latest honorary member at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2019; in addition he set a new tournament record total of 24, winning by seven shots from his nearest challenger, Matt Wallace. “It’s incredibly special,” said the World Number Five, who has taken up European Tour membership for this season. “I’ve always dreamed of winning any Tour event, and to have this many under my belt, I don’t even know what I have right now. You know, being able to win internationally is something that I’ve always wanted to do after winning so many times in the States

and to get it at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic is incredible. It’s literally a dream come true. I couldn’t be more honoured to win this event.” This win was Bryson DeChambeau’s maiden European Tour title, claiming it in style by carding an eagle, seven birdies and a single bogey on the final day. He said: “Today I was happy with my game. I executed a lot of great shots. It was a pleasure. It was obviously a lot of fun to be able to finally hoist an international trophy, I’m so happy about that. I was trying to shoot 25 under today and

missed it by one, but I’m happy with the results for sure. I was trying to go as deep as possible today.” Last year’s champion Haotong Li, who played alongside DeChambeau in the final round, had held the previous record after producing a winning score of 23 under in 2018. Englishmen Paul Waring and Ian Poulter, along with Spaniards Sergio Garcia and Alvaro Quiros were another stroke back in a tie for third.

Dear all,

Captain’s Message

The course looked incredible throughout the week and having spoken to some of the players, they all agreed that the greens on the

I must compliment Falcon on the hospitality suites overlooking the 9th and 18th greens. They were superb viewing platforms and created a wonderful atmosphere for the players approaching the greens. Everyone I spoke to had nothing but high praise for them. The on-course hospitality was also a success and in particular the Barasti stand behind the 15th green which was electric with atmosphere. A big thank you to Barney and all his team for all the hard work and effort they put in over the week... from food to drinks, on-course and off-course activities; all our colleagues provided excellence service to members and guests. What a champion we have in Bryson DeChambeau. He made golf look like a simple game and his play over the four days was unbelievable. He was a true gentleman at the prize-giving with his speech and the customary picture taking with everyone involved in the event. I got the chance to congratulate his performance and to have a very memorable picture taken with him. He

was so complimentary about the Majlis and the Club; hopefully he will keep the event in his diary for years to come. I’m sure there will be a surge in the club fitting stores looking to try ‘the scientist’s’ same length clubs. Back to normal business this month that has plenty happening at the Club. We have just had the UAE World Corporate Golf Challenge, and still to come this month is the Monthly Medal and then the Kohlman Nations Cup which is the most sought after registration during the year. Good luck to everyone playing in the events for February. Don’t forget to complete your matchplays and make sure to observe when the match has to be completed by. On the back of our Plastic or Planet initiative last December, the Club will be distributing the new water bottle flasks for all members with your name inscribed on the bottle. Let’s support this as much as possible in our Club and hopefully, more clubs and establishments will take note and change.

The week started in style on the Monday for me with an invitation to join Henrik Stenson and Boss for an intimate meet and greet discussion in Carine followed by dinner. On the Tuesday I had the opportunity to join Cigna and Thomas Bjorn in the members’ lounge to discuss the heroics of the Ryder Cup. It was fascinating to hear some of the behind-thescenes actions and plans that went on. I was lucky enough to play in the Pro-Am on the Wednesday with Shane Lowry. He was a joy to play with and a wonderful ambassador for golf with all the pictures and autographs he did while playing.

Majlis were the best they have ever seen them. Ian Poulter, who did not have good things to say about the bunkers at Abu Dhabi was particularly complimentary about the course and even mentioned that our bunkers were perfect! Well done to Matt and all his team for getting the course in such pristine condition. They worked non-stop before and during the event and the results showed on the course.

Club Mana Report

There’s only one subject to start my monthly article with for February and that’s our fantastic Omega Dubai Desert Classic tournament. It was spectacular from start to finish and I’m sure it will be a winning formula for future tournaments. In my time attending this event I have to say it’s the best tournament we have ever had at Emirates Golf Club.

We must repeat this!

in’s Lady Capta Message 2019 couldn’t have started in a more magical way than it did here at Emirates Golf Club. The tributes to ABBA and Freddie Mercury were the perfect choice to whisk us back to our youth, ensuring we had the time of our lives on and off the dance floor. The whole night was fabulous, spent amongst family and friends while reliving our youth in music. Thank you to the F&B and Marketing teams for making this a truly memorable night. On the course, we started with the dreaded Ladies’ Monthly Medal on the Majlis when we played the course under very tough conditions, but well done to Sue Hopwood for a great score.

What an event this turned out to be! As soon as the build up was starting we knew that something magnificent was about to take place. Well done to Falcon for setting the bar high and fulfilling everyone’s expectations. Personally, I couldn’t have wished for a winner more gorgeous and more humble than Bryson DeChambeau. He’s got a big fan in me!

As I am preparing to write this, we have just completed our third fixture for the Inter-Club competition. For those unfamiliar with the Inter-Club Challenge, eleven clubs in the UAE compete in leagues culminating in a grand final towards the end of the season.

On the social side, Martha and twenty ladies visited the beautiful QE2 - thank you once more Martha for your amazing dedication in creating beautiful memories for us. By all accounts, this was a fantastic visit and one that will be remembered by those who went, for a very long time.

I would like to extend my appreciation for the amazing support I have received since the beginning of this tournament. I know I have my back well covered with the choice of ladies. Emirates Golf Club ladies, as I always say, and I can’t say it enough, you rock! In this round of matches we came in first place after beating Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club team on their home course so we now lead the Inter-Club Challenge Thank you Maura, Najla, Yana, Maria, Naima, Sandra, Helen, Rekha and Josie for being there.

The new rules evening with Shona McRae and David Rickman, on the members’ terrace was a real treat. I sincerely enjoyed every bit of it and I wish more members could have participated in this event.

Dubai Golf Ladies Pairs We are delighted to invite you to our new monthly events across the five Dubai Golf courses. All lady members from the three clubs are welcome to play, and these events will be a great way for everyone to get together each month for some fun on the course and a great lunch afterwards.

MIDNIGHT MADNESS

Thursday, 31st January 2019

Thursday 31st January saw the return of the Midnight Madness tournament at Emirates Golf Club and with it some brilliant scoring considering the chilly conditions. Played through the night, under the floodlights on the Faldo Course, our winning team was Aqeel Hemraj, Shaneabbas Yusufali, Salim Shaikh and David Murphy who carded a brilliant net score of 119.9. The runnerup team was Aditya Pugalia, Rajnish Mathur, Satheesh Sreedharan and Ashish Rathi coming in with a net score of 125.3. Sushant Malik, Rohit Nath, Bipin Bhatia and Suryaveer Singh came close and finished in third place scoring 126.4 net. The scoring was sensational considering the timescale of the event. Having completed an initial 18 hole round within their teams, each team was then split into two pairs to take on a further 9 hole challenge which saw the sunrise arrive just as golfers were closing their rounds. For the special events section, winning the nearest the pins were Brendan Drill on hole 2 and Dirk Bruwer on the hole 12. Well done to all players who braved the conditions and congratulations to all prize winners!

PRO’S TIP OF THE MONTH

Three drills that will create an improvement movement pattern

Peter Cowen Academy Dubai

We have all heard the notion - practice makes perfect but I use; Perfect movement practice makes perfect Since becoming a golf coach over 15 years ago I have searched for an efficient way to do many things, the golf swing being one of them. An efficient golf swing comes from the BODY, BODY ACTION & REACTIONS.

In November we saw my fellow colleague Bryan Smyth discuss the Peter Cowen Pyramid of Learning Level 2 Balance - the relationship between maintaining our balance points which relates to club face control. In December, fellow Professional Richard Dunsby discussed, Level 2 hand and arm action. The correct hinging and cocking of the wrists is linked closely to the maintenance of balance points. The topic for this month’s discussion is Body Action..

I had the pleasure in January to take level 2 biomechanics with one of the world leaders in this field Dr Kwon, mentor to many top US coaches including Tiger Woods’ former coach, Chris Como. The golf swing is a very misunderstood movement and unfortunately the answer for improvement does not lie in hitting balls. To create a swing, the correct movement is created with the correct ground force interaction and from this point reactions are created.

taking 20 minutes, this equates to one minute of movement practice. If the session was good, 50% of the shots were above average whilst the other half below average. This would mean the player has spent only half a minute of good movement versus half a minute of poor movement. Couple this with a round of golf which takes approximately four hours - a player who shoots 85 spends two and a half minutes swinging the club at the ball. If we double or even triple this to account for practice swings, then seven and a half minutes from four hours isn’t ideal movement practice especially when we again separate good versus poor movement. We have all seen Peter Cowen’s spiral drill which was ahead of its time back when he originally filmed it, and it is still legendary today with support from many leading biomechanics movement experts. If you haven’t seen it type in the link below.

Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, our PGA Professionals will improve your game while having fun along the way.

Introduction

Take the opportunity to learn to play golf in a friendly and relaxed environment with the Academy’s Ladies’ Programme, perfect for both experienced players and complete beginners. Over a period of ten weeks, your group will be taken through various aspects of the game by a qualified Golf Professional. After each lesson, you are invited to relax over a coffee in the Spike Bar. If the movement is correct and understood, it can be practised away from the golf ball. Our mentor Peter explains that the average golf swing takes approximately 1.5 seconds; if a player hits 40 balls on the range, generally

Spiral the body and muscles

At the Peter Cowen Academy Dubai, our instructors teach the correct movement which inevitably create efficient movement and therefore swing. Many of you already do this in your practice swings; when a ball is placed in the way then the automatic response is to hit at the ball or tense up before impact affecting the ability to consistently move the body which, in turn, stabilises the club face. Day 1 of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2019 compared with Day 1 in 1989. What a difference thirty years later!!

Our unsung heroes...

Great to see colleagues from different departments help fill in the divots as we approached the 30th Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Well done to our agronomy team for their hard work in preparing the course for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. One team. One Dubai Golf

Thanks to Max Hope from Gleneagles Golf Club, Robbie Nardari and Morne Breedt from The African Turf Academy for volunteering for two weeks for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic and really making a difference - great effort by the guys and great job on the tees. Thanks also to Josh McCallum from Jumeirah Golf Estates who helped with the set up during the week. Matt Perry

“I really enjoy playing it. I think it’s great, particularly when you get to the back nine. So many different scenarios can happen.” - Tommy Fleetwood on the Majlis Course

“I’ve always liked this golf course. It’s the kind of golf course if you drive the ball well, you can score very well but if you’re not doing too well off the tee, it can be quite tricky” - Sergio Garcia on the Majlis Course

Rules By R

Rules of Golf THE NEW RULES OF GOLF More changes explained

Following on from last month when we explained the 20 Must Know Rule changes for 2019, this month we will look to explain some of the lesser known rule changes introduced by the R&A and the USGA. 1. In the following three scenarios, you no longer need to ask your playing partners to witness your actions when lifting your ball that is in play. • To check if the ball is damaged • Lifting your ball to identify it – during a search • Lifting your ball to see if it lies in a condition where relief would be allowed However, you MUST still mark the position of the ball before lifting and you MUST have good reason to be lifting the ball – without good reason a ONE shot penalty will apply. The main reason behind this change is to entrust the integrity of the player like all other aspects of the game, to speed up play, and it was also agreed that more often than not an opponent would decline the opportunity to observe the process so why bother anyway…The penalty for lifting without good reason should be enough to prevent abuse of the rule. 2. Replacing Ball When Original Spot Not Known In a situation now when a ball is moved and must be replaced, it will ALWAYS be replaced (not dropped), regardless of whether the original lie is known or unknown. If the spot is not known, it will be ESTIMATED and the ball will be replaced as it was before

it was moved, including being under or against any growing or attached natural object. 3. Touching Line of Play on Putting Green In the new rules, there is no penalty if a player touches the line of putt. It was determined that no real advantage can be gained, and also with the introduction of repairing spike marks and other damages, it makes sense to eliminate this entirely.

Here is a reminder of the top 10 must know changes: 1. New dropping height. All drops must be from knee height.

THE CLOSE HOUSE EXPERIENCE Set in the beautiful and serene Tyne Valley, minutes from Newcastle and nestled between the banks of the River Tyne and the ancient remains of Hadrian’s Wall, the 250-year-old Close House estate grounds have been lovingly teased into two of the best courses in the country, with the Lee Westwood Colt Course gaining entry to the UK Top 100 courses club almost as soon as it opened. With two 18-hole Lee Westwood Championship Colt and Filly courses and the 9 hole Yearling course, Close House provides one of the most varied golfing challenges anywhere on the golfing map today. This European Tour venue is designed to appeal to players at every level of skill and reward first-time visitors and the year-round member evenly. The PGA Academy provides the opportunity to polish and develop your golfing ability using the latest technology to analyse your game. In addition, our modern, purpose-built No.19 clubhouse is a stunning setting for your post-round drink. Providing firstclass dining, the restaurant caters for all occasions and we also provide a private dining service for those events you would like to host yourselves. With the luxurious accommodation we have in our sumptuous Courtyard rooms, membership at Close House provides everything you will need. If golf is your game, Close House is a dream come true.

2. New dropping procedure. Ball must land in and come to rest in relief area. 3. Time reduced for search. Ball is lost if not found within THREE minutes. 4. Putting with flagstick in. Hitting unattended flagstick in hole is now allowed when putting. 5. Spike mark repair on green. Repair of almost any damage to green now allowed. 6. Ball or ball-marker moved on green. No penalty for accidental movement of ball or ball-marker on green. 7. Ball accidentally moved while searching. Replace ball with no penalty. 8. Loose impediments in bunker or penalty area. Removal of loose impediments in bunker or penalty area now allowed. 9. Touching line of play on green. Touching line of play on green now allowed. 10. READY GOLF In stroke play, the new Rules actively encourage READY GOLF. If you have any rules queries that you would like to discuss over the coming weeks then please do not hesitate to ask on your next visit to the club or simply email your query to rjames@dubaigolf.com

Dear Members,

The feedback I received from the Golf Professionals, the physiotherapists and fitness professionals was fantastic and we really are up there with the best in terms of facilities, quality of the golf courses and F&B service at the Club I remember my first Dubai Desert Classic and back then hardly any golfers used the gym; now the gym is full of golfers as they are real athletes. Obviously Tiger Woods helped change the mindset in golf and the modern game but it has since moved onto another level. In fact I believe one of the reasons for a lot of Tiger Woods’ injuries

was down to lifting too many weights. I had the pleasure of attending a Peter Cowen seminar and there is just so much to learn from this guy; he really is a top ambassador for golf and he has helped change the game immensely. He is coach to seven of the top 20 who were on the leaderboard of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic which says it all really; Peter is very well respected in the golfing world and rightly so. To be honest, I think he is ahead of his time and it is not about pumping lots of big weights; rather, it is about doing the correct exercise for you to help the swing. During the sessions with him he took the team through some unique drills. All the Golf Professionals from Emirates Golf Club, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and Jumeirah Golf Estates were there and I could see that they were amazed with his unique approach to the game.

Exercise Tip Of The Month

Trunk rotation (obliques)

The obliques are an often overlooked muscle group that, when strengthened, will help to improve posture, support the lower back and improve trunk rotation. Rotation of the trunk is used often in our daily lives, examples include reaching behind you in the car, turning to switch off your bed side lamp and of course swinging a golf club. The external obliques flex and rotate the trunk towards the opposite side (of the body) and the internal obliques flex and rotate to the same side (of the body). Having correct spinal rotation increases flexibility in the thoracic spine (upper and mid back) which also helps to release aches and pains in the shoulders and neck. It is important to strengthen the obliques in both a rotational and anti-rotational plain, meaning that you need to perform movements that require your body to work against a rotational force as well as exercises that require your body to produce rotational force. So how to strengthen? Pictured is an example of an anti-rotational exercise (known as the Palov press) that puts a great demand on the obliques. Start by standing with feet shoulder width apart with soft knees and neutral hip position. With one hand covering the other hold the handle in line with the center of your chest and take a few steps away from the cable machine so as to create some pre existing tension on the cable. Press the cable away from your body while exhaling and moving the arms in a straight line away from you then inhale and pull the cable back to the chest.

Last month Peter Cowen joined our colleagues from Fit Lab, European Tour Performance Institute and the Peter Cowen Academy for an exclusive Masterclass training on dynamic movement!

ZATA TENNIS ACADEMY

ZATA caters for all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. All students enrolling in the tennis programme go through an assessment so as to be placed in the appropriate squad where everyone is of a similar standard, thus allowing the coach to maximise the lesson structure. Ladies mornings have always proved to be very popular and they take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 8am to 10am. The Academy is open seven days a week from 7am to 10pm. The truth about male menopause

it’s time to start talking openly about it

However, common symptoms of male menopause involve changes in libido and erectile dysfunction. Men can also become emotional and may feel sad, depressed or moody which can cause a decrease in motivation or self-confidence. Physical changes also occur such as decreased bone density, declining strength and endurance, increase in fatigue and lethargy, as well as aches, pains and stiffness in joints or excessive sweating. Some men experience swollen or tender breasts, loss of body hair and an increase in abdominal fat.

Mood swings, hot flushes, weight gain and slight grumpiness are all symptoms very often caused by the hormonal changes taking place in menopausal women but women may not be the only ones dealing with hormonal changes as they age.

Our patients come from all walks of life so, no matter what your sporting or fitness ability, we’ll help you to stay strong, prevent injury, overcome pain and attain your own personal health goals. FOR FURTHER INFORMATION Louise Fichera UPANDRUNNING Sports Medicine Marketing 0507392165

• If a man is healthy and starts to experience any of these issues, a visit to the doctor may help diagnose if he has low testosterone or other conditions affecting general health and lifestyle

• Be mindful of testosterone replacements. If required, they need careful monitoring and assessment as they can be linked to prostate cancer. • A low-fat diet, losing weight and upping your exercise are all things known to help men with the symptoms of andropause.

“Women universally experience a drop in oestrogen during menopause as they run out of functioning eggs, usually around the age of 50 years of age. However, men can face a subtler decline

• Men are often in denial about their symptoms - one of the reasons why men often die younger than women. Find a good doctor who you trust and talk to him!

According to Dr Lawrence Lear, Family Medicine Specialist at UPANDRUNNING Sport Medical Center, some men suffer from andropause (frequently referred to as male menopause), which occurs when their hormone production starts to dip.

Many of these symptoms are a normal part of ageing but others can be caused by a variety of factors. Many men who experience these agerelated symptoms can have unhealthy lifestyles; they may smoke, drink too much alcohol, fail to exercise regularly and are often overweight. These lifestyle factors may promote illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol and depression. All of these factors can coincide with professional and personal issues and is occasionally mocked as a ‘midlife crisis’.

2019

For the modern-day lady who endorses quality but appreciates value. Founder and owner, Shreya Radia How my career came about … I grew up in Dubai, having moved here when I was just ten months old! Dubai has really become home for me. After studying at Dubai College I then completed my BSc and MB in UK before coming back. It was overwhelming to come back, to what is often referred to as ‘a bubble’, and to realise that it was time to make it in the ‘big bad world’. Although I’ve always known I wanted to have something of my own and start my own business, I really had no idea what it would be! I had initially looked at taking franchises of various beauty concepts from Dubai to other parts of the world, but I soon realised that perhaps the best way for me to learn and understand the core values of any business, was to do it organically and to build the business from the ground up. It has allowed me to have an innate knowledge of the business that perhaps I wouldn’t have got from a plug and play franchise option. Why the beauty industry? I did not have any experience in the beauty industry, nor did I actively seek to get into this. For me, I saw the industry as both competitive and opportunistic and the combination of these caught my attention. It was competitive in that we all know spas and salons are a dime a dozen in Dubai, but it was opportunistic in that there was a gap in the market for five star standards at an affordable price! This gap was something I wanted to capitalise on, to truly stand out from the rest in everything from branding and marketing to fit out and customer journey so I knew I had to be meticulous about the finer details. It has been essential in ensuring Project Beauty does not fade into the background of the industry. Today we are also proud to say we have been successfully shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Beauty Salon of the Year’ category at the 2019 Professional Beauty GCC Awards. There were an amazing 4,000 players over the week who took part to try to qualify for this putt so this was quite a feat for Tony to come out on top. It’s the first time a professional event has been played with amateurs with a cut after the second round Aditi had a stunning -6 on the last day to finish in the top 10. Also seen is Danish Pro, Emily Pedersen who played with our group.
