STUART HORWOOD AGRONOMY UPDATE

Dear Members,

2022 looks to be a very promising year for the golf courses. The first quarter will be focused on general golf course maintenance, ensuring our members and guests have the courses to enjoy. During this time there will be general practices like light topdressing and needle tining. We consciously carry out these tasks on a Monday so by the weekend there is no evidence of sand.

After some great feedback from the landscape work completed on holes 16,17,18 of earth we will continue this project of woodland management. Starting between hole 4 and 5 of earth and then moving to hole 7 and 8. The recent investment from Dubai golf of our own woodchipping machine allows us to quickly improve the presentation in these areas but this does come with some disruption to your round when playing those holes. We hope you enjoy your golf during these winter months and thank you for your continued support which allows us to keep improving the golf course for your enjoyment.

The current weed issue on both courses is a major concern for us and we are working on a plan to reduce the population drastically during this year. By February a thorough plan of action will be shared and explained to the membership committee to pass on should you have any questions or concerns. This will be actioned in March and ongoing thru September.
