March 2014

A Word from our Club Captain, Tejan Fadlu-Deen pitchmarks. It’s a scourge we’d really like to get rid of at the club.

Dear Members, This is the second Newsletter from the Creek and although we haven’t heard too much feedback from the first one, I get the general feeling it was well received by everyone. Thanks again to Paula Savage for taking this great initiative to keep the members up to date about what’s going on at the Creek. I know everyone enjoyed the Members Party last month at the Boardwalk, although a lot of people would like to have it back at its original venue so we can enjoy the “afters” a bit more like the old times. That should hopefully happen next year.

I’m not quite sure if the comments made last time about the pitch marks on the greens and divots on the fairways not being repaired are being listened to, but to be putting on greens every week that look like they have bad case of acne is definitely not fun for anyone. We’re hoping the Creek will introduce some sort of fining system for players who don’t repair divots or pitch marks. I’d also like to ask members to call out other players seen not repairing their

We will have one of our first “novelty” competitions coming soon for our competition starved members. This will be a five club Challenge which will hopefully be a lot of fun for everyone with some fantastic prizes to be given away after the event: “Longest Drive with your putter from the back tees on the 8th hole” will be one of them! Everyone has plenty time to think about which 5 clubs they will select to tackle the course!!! I hope all members will sign up for it, as it promises to be a fun and challenging day!!

Lady Club Captain, Paula Savage, says….. Thank you for all the kind words of support following the launch of our newsletter, it’s nice to hear you have enjoyed reading it – long may it continue! Well, what a fabulous month we had in February, a highlight of course being the annual Member’s Party. As you will see from our photos a spectacular evening was had by all. Congratulations to all concerned for a truly memorable evening. Tejan, you should have stuck with me – I found the party until the wee hours of the morning!! Sign up, Sign up, for the Club Championships and the ever popular Masters Par 3 tournament. Enjoy the glorious weather, the fabulous condition of the golf course and the wonderful dining outlets here at the Creek. Until next month…. Happy golfing!

Getting to know you….. Say hello to our lovely ladies and gents who meet and greet us every day as we enter the Club. First impressions are always the most important and our receptionists certainly make the right impression with both members and visitors alike. Thank you for the warm welcome and the assistance in calling for taxis after another hard day on the golf course and at the 19th hole!
