The skinny-leg trend has been around for almost a decade now and looks like it's determined to stay. Fashion experts might put in their two bits and say that the boyfriend or straight leg has returned, replacing the now ubiquitous skinny trouser, but we say otherwise. Definitely a trend we’ll be holding on to, the skinny leg trouser or skinny jeans, are our now de riguer in our wardrobe staples. Trends may come and go, so to call skinnies a trend might be something of a contradiction because in all honesty, they’ve now earned their reputation as a fashion classic. The versatility of skinny trousers speaks for itself. Dressed up with a slim, tapered top, it’s a great option for nights out, especially on days when you’re just not feeling like a dress. In the day, throw a t-shirt or a loose shirt over it and you’re good to go. What’s more, skinny styles are very flattering to the female form. Some might disagree on this, believing that it’s much too form fitting for certain body types. But the truth is, skinny trousers come in a variety of fits. Super Skinnies or cigarette jeans/pants may have been designed with a Victoria’s Secret model in mid (think Karlie Kloss), but there are a host of other tapered styles that offer the same slimming impact without the over-exposure that the skin-tight styles come with.
