Comicave the wor ld ’s lar ges t comics and collectibles super s tore
Al Ahli Holding Group’s Comicave is the wor ld ’s lar ges t s tore of its kind with 17,000 sq ft of retail space tha t opens a t Dubai Outlet Mall. of video game, comic book and film followers. “Comicave is a destination for the Middle Eastern enthusiast of pop culture, comic books, movies, TV series, games and entertainment. We know there is a massive audience of fans and followers out there and reach out to them and set up a year-round superstore that will stock high-end collectibles, hard to find memorabilia, and everything to do with entertainment,” said Khammas.

Fans of comic books, collectibles and pop-culture across the UAE have good reason to rejoice as Comicave, the Middle East’s first-of-its-kind superstore for high-end collectibles, apparel, novelty items, comic books, collectibles from Hollywood blockbusters like Aliens, Predator, Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, Transformers, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Attack on Titan and many more. Comicave, brainchild of the CEO of Al Ahli Holding Group, Mohammed Khammas, aims squarely for a massive regional audience
8
“Our idea extends beyond retail. We want to be a superstore involved in the retail and distribution of high-end collectibles. But we also want Comicave to house an entire entertainment universe that attracts crowds of varying ages and interests. We want to open up a world that wasn’t available to enthusiasts before in the region. We’re developing a schedule of Cosplay events, gaming tournaments, model kit competitions, screenings, workshops and lectures,” said Yasmin Al Najjar General Manager, Retail and Distribution, of Comicave in Middle East and Africa (MENA) and India.
Comicave’s collectibles area carries authenticated statues, sculptures, action figures, prop replicas and memorabilia of some of the most recognised and valued intellectual properties from the most famous studios in the world. “Items such as these are released in extremely limited quantities, together with authentication certificates. Their inherent scarcity makes them valuable and also capable of appreciating, much like art investments,” shared Khammas.
Comicave is not just for high-end collectors. A comic island offers over 5,000 comic and manga titles. The store features an extensive library of tabletop games, ranging from Dungeons & Dragons to Hero Clix lines. Action figures, apparel, and smaller merchandise add to the store’s offerings. Gamers too have a place to gather and play online, cooperatively or against one another, at The Vault within the store.

CUES Check out the season’s coolest trends for ideas on how to work the perfect end-of-winter wardrobe As we come to the end of winter, here are some lasting trends that will see us through the coolest weather yet. From fun and versatile ponchos and capes to cozy, comfy knits and sporty vibes fashion continues to stay cool as does the weather.
1
Capes and Ponchos A super-chic twist on blazers, the cape trend literally took over A/W runways this season, but it was the celeb pack that had us truly lusting after the cape. From it-girls Cara Delevigne and Suki Waterhouse, to the golden fashionista SJP, celebs were spotted sporting the cape in its many luxe avatars. The poncho, another sister trend of the cape, inspired by the must-have Burberry customizable blanket poncho, was another huge hit. Stylistas teamed theirs with skinny jeans tucked into over-the-knee boots for a casual, yet uber stylish vibe.

Checks and Plaids Scottish Tartan prints and other checks and plaids dominate the prints of the season. Red and black combinations are immensely popular as are more earthy neutral tones. The print has been spotted on the season’s popular blanket capes and ponchos as well as blazers, shirts and many other styles.

Sporty Vibes

3 Another leading fashion story, the athletic trend reappears this season. Sporty fabrics, trackies, hoodies, and sweats even high top sneakers. Indeed, sports dominates some of the hottest trends. These styles work best when teamed with one of the season’s other key pieces. High top sneakers for instance, look oddly wonderful when paired with a midilength skirt, very Madonna meets Rihanna if you must.

13 Comfy Knits
Fashion embraces its relaxed side with a return to easy, comfy knits this season. From oversized and elongated silhouettes, with drop hems and high-low styles, knits continue to stay within stylish parameters while offering fashionistas. Some comfort in the process. Think jumper dresses, knit blazers or sweaters teamed with woolly leggings for a seriously warm and toasty feel! Fuzzy textures continue to be popular, offering a little drama to the humble sweater.

From colour blocking to animal prints, flora to fauna, patterns continue to play an important role in the season’s fashions. With colour blocking, designers create some interesting colour plays; meanwhile with geometric patterns, designers create true works of art with some eye-catching details. Florals are also big, but they come in richer winter hues as a lead up to their spring pastel blooms.

Totally Totes
The classic tote is amped up in the season’s popular prints, shimmering metallics and fun graphics. These roomy, easy-to-wear bags continue to remain a wardrobe staple.
Handle with Care
The new clutch now comes with a handle! Why didn’t we think of that before? Handles and straps make it much easier to tote these little babies around both in the day as well as to a glamorous cocktail party. Our personal fave, the circle shape, gives new meaning to geometry!
Crossbody
The latest versions of the hugely popular crossbody bag include more structure if the recent shows are anything to go by. Saddlebag inspired versions are also making an appearance. There’s no denying the convenience of the crossbody, which explains its continued popularity each season.

Colour continues to play an important role in children’s fashion. While this season’s neutrals make its way into kids’ fashions, you can do well to inject a pop of colour to add interest. Jewel tones work well in combination with neutrals. This year for your basics go for neutral tones of taupe, grey and camel. Blues, reds and greens are all good options.

Layers are a great way to dress kids up for the kind of unpredictable weather we’ve been seeing. Throwing on a single heavy coat might overheat them. Instead, try and layer tees, vests and lightweight jackets. This will allow kids to play around with the level of warmth they require, so that they’re both comfy and trendy this winter. Knitwear is an absolute essential for kids. Embellished, fuzzy and other trendy varieties that mimic grown-up fashions are popular with girls. For boys, smart cardigans and sweaters, hoodies and other basics continue to be a hit. Knitted and quilted vests are great ways to keep them warm just where they need it. Fur vests are also a big trend for the girls this time of year, and they look great paired with leggings, jeggings or even with skirts or a dress.

RELOADED Discover classics, reinvented for the season with modern twists and contemporary updates Fashion for the chaps sits on far more even terrain that of the ladies. There’s less emphasis on “must-haves” and more on key investment pieces. Here we outline some trend updates that will make subtle yet crucial additions to your wardrobe, ensuring you can build upon them from season to season.
1
2 Colour On our radar this season, is the inclusion of colour in menswear as picked up by our keen fashion editors. There’s been a strong undercurrent of colour in menswear, which we now see appearing in stores. Block colours manifest themselves not just as subtle accents, but emblazoned on jackets too. If you’re one who likes to get noticed, this trend will definitely work for you.

Shirts If you’re a fan of Harry Styles you might enjoy the ‘slashed to the navel’ shirts that are doing their rounds. But if abs and pecs and a smooth hairless chest evades you, you might want to give this peekaboo style a miss. Instead, other types of more classic shirts are likely a better option. Look for smart checks, stripes, or even denim for a more casual vibe. Prints are also big, but clearly they’re not for everyone. Choose subtle, easyto-wear prints that will work as the season changes.

Denim Denim is making an early return in preparation for spring. This suits us just fine in our more temperate climate. From Tom Ford to Prada, denim blazers and jackets make a welcome comeback that is well received among fashion media and consumers alike. Keep it clean and sharp if you don’t want to end up looking like a cowboy. Darker denim hues work great in this weather.

Ideal for all ages, engaging in physical activity in the great outdoors allows you to discover nature’s many wonders while inhaling fresh, crisp air. HOROSCOPE
2015 is the Year of the Sheep in Chinese Zodiac
Each of the 12 years in the Chinese zodiac cycle is represented by an animal. The zodiac traditionally starts with the Year of the Rat and cycles continuously. These animal signs are calculated in accordance with the Chinese calendar, which is lunisolar and predates the Gregorian calendar. According to the Chinese zodiac, your birth year tells you more than just your age. It is believed that there is a special relationship between people and the animals in the Chinese zodiac. It is also believed that some relationships are more compatible than others depending on one’s zodiac. As the year 2015 is the Year of the Sheep, it is believed that those born under this sign are going to have a good year, with plenty of luck and opportunities ahead. So lets see how is the Year of the Sheep for you?

• 1948 • 1960 • 1972
Year
Personality characteristics Imaginative, generous, successful, popular, curious This year put that a-maze-ing brain to work! Discover new ways of adding to your knowledge. You can breathe a little easier this year. But just a little -- emotions are likely to run high. If you already have a sweetheart, they're likely to be more sensitive. Since Sheep heightens an appreciation for beauty, give thoughtful gifts. You got through the Horse's challenge last year because you're so darn smart, but this year you'll have the luck of the Sheep on your side!

Personality characteristics
Confident, honest, patient, conservative, strong Last year was likely to be a really hectic one, with lots of stuff happening, no time to rest and maybe some confusion. Well, the Sheep says slow down, and that could be just what you need. Well, feelings might run high this year! Don't be surprised if it seems everyone around you keeps losing it. That doesn't mean you have to do it, too. And maybe being super understanding isn't exactly your thing, but a little tenderness and concern for others will go a long way in the coming months. It probably wouldn't hurt to do the touchy feeling thing once in a while. Can't hurt to give it a try!
RABBIT Year
•1951 •1963 •1975
•1986 •1998 •2010
Sensitive, tolerant, brave, active, resilient Tigers may not be the king of the jungle, but these striped cats are no softies! Magnetic and self-possessed, Tigers are born leaders. Although they are magnetically charming and fun to be around, Tigers like to be alone sometimes too. A Tiger's main interest is in following its ambitions and maintaining control. Tigers are courageous beyond compare and generally come out ahead in battle, be it in the boardroom or the bedroom. They can react poorly under stress and are prone to emotional outbursts. This Sign's bristling sensitivity can send friend and foe running for cover.

• 1984 • 1996 • 2008
•1987 •1999 •2011
Personality characteristics
Affectionate, kind, gentle, compassionate, merciful Timid and attractive! This Sign is extremely popular and has a wide circle of family and friends. Its compassionate nature leads it to be very protective of those it holds dear, but where romance is concerned, the Rabbit's sentimentality can lead it to idealize relationships. Rabbits dislike arguments and other conflict and will try anything to avoid a fight; this results in something of a pushover nature. Rabbits can also lapse into pessimism and may seem stuck in life -- often to mask their insecure natures. The sweet, sensitive Rabbit often ends up giving more of itself to a partner than is realistic or healthy. The good news is, when this Sign goes off-balance, the Rabbit's core group of friends and its stable home life help bring it back to center.

Personality characteristics
Personality characteristics
Enthusiastic, intelligent, lively, energetic, innovative The Dragon is one of the most powerful and lucky Signs of the Chinese Zodiac. Dragons possess a certain natural, charming charisma that ensures they can always influence their peers and often find themselves the center of attention in social situations. Power is what the Dragon wants and truly believes it deserves. Dragons are quite the opportunists, forever searching for ways in which to consolidate their considerable power. Contrary to all this strength and fire, a weakened Dragon is a sad sack, a creature that refuses to take defeat with even a modicum of grace.
Charming, intuitive, romantic, highly perceptive, polite This Sign is an interesting mix of gregariousness paired with introversion, intuitive reasoning paired with savvy business skills. Snakes are considered to be lucky with money. The Snake is somewhat insecure deep down and tend to be a rather jealous, possessive lover, behavior that can end up alienating loved ones. Snakes will rely on their own gut reactions and intuitions before turning to others for suggestions. This makes this Sign a great hand in any business venture, possessing the caution and smarts needed to get ahead.

Diligent, friendly, sophisticated, talented, clever Horses feel a simultaneous yearning for independence and freedom. Horses crave love and intimacy, which is a doubleedged sword since it often leads them to feel trapped. This Sign tends to come on very strong in the beginning of the relationship, having an almost innate sense of romance and seduction. Horses are seducers in general. Horses are selfreliant and, though they might lose interest fast in a tedious, nine-to-five day job, are willing to do the work necessary to get ahead. Horses tend not to look much at the big picture; instead they just follow their whims, which can result in a trail of prematurely ended relationships, jobs, projects and so on.
Artistic, calm, reserved, happy, kind Daydreaming all afternoon sounds heavenly to the Sheep. This Sign makes a great craftsperson or artisan, or perhaps a teacher of New Age studies -- any occupation that allows its mind the full range of freedom. When in love, the Sheep can be quite a lavish gift-giver. Perhaps it's that artistic temperament that so often causes Sheep to feel insecure, but the result is that these high-strung creatures need to feel loved and admired lest they start worrying incessantly.

Personality characteristics
Witty, lively, flexible, humorous, curious Always upbeat, they are considered minor celebrities in their circle thanks to their sparkling wit and that rapier-sharp mind. Perhaps surprisingly, Monkeys are also good listeners and tackle complicated situations with ease. This Sign's natural curiosity lends it the desire to become knowledgeable on a broad range of topics. Monkeys have a show-off side that loves nothing more than to dazzle their pals with all they know. In love, the Monkey makes a fun, exciting lover. It’s not that this Sign is mean; it might just be a bit too curious for its own good. Monkeys often feel the need to try everything at least once, which can make for a merry-go-round of relationships.
Shrewd, honest, communicative, motivated, punctual In a word: Focus. Now say: I'm going to have a good year. How, you ask? Zero in on your good months -- and days. That's when you want to do the big stuff. Everyone has times when luck's not on their side. Okay -- so you're not going to Las Vegas this year. That's not the end of the world! Can you make your own breaks? Sure you can! You're a plucky Rooster, right? And you probably have good organization skills. Start marking your calendar now -- you'll easily succeed.

Loyal, honest, responsible, courageous, warm-hearted If there's a job to be done, chances are you're the one to step up and do it. People love that about you! Maybe they love it a little too much. A better plan this year might be to take a step back, and try letting others take on some duties. Whether you're single or attached, your empathy could give you a leg up on the love front. You might develop a new affection for a longtime friend. Sharing your feelings sounds too risky? That's okay. You can choose your moments. And if it happens, it happens.
Sincere, tolerant, hard-working, honest, optimistic this is your time! Thinking about making any big changes to your life? You've got the green light. Only one word of caution -- you don't want to spoil a good thing. Be careful about letting your emotions get the best of you. It wouldn't hurt to get an outside opinion before you make any big leaps. Good luck (as if you need any more this year!).
