Kamal Bhaskarbhai Tewar: Struggle, no matter how you define it, is part of life

Everyone should live and let people live, according to Kamal Bhaskarbhai Tewar, an Indian Director of Albatross Group based in Abu Dhabi. Freedom will always be the key to happiness and fulfilment.

This upbeat individual holds a Bachelor of Chemistry degree as well as a Master of Business Administration. He enjoys doing business, which makes him more intellectual and wise. Kamal began working as a Salesman in 2003. This experience shaped him into the man he is today.

Kamal has been in Abu Dhabi for 14 years and says the city has treated him well, providing him with success and positivity in his daily life. According to him, four words characterize his career: action, decision, hard work, and ambition.

For a long time creating and molding his dream, he has made certain that these four words will always be by his side as he overcomes adversities in his professional life. Every person should face life’s challenges, according to this man of optimism. Struggles are a part of life, and there is no such thing as a struggle that implies negativity. It is a natural part of growing up.

Kamal previously worked as a Vice President in a Finance Business before taking on a large position with great responsibility. This job provided him with the opportunity to hone his skills and shape his personality as a person who makes everything lighter when things get heavy.

Kamal stated that his favorite aspect of his current job is excellent administration. One of the “cherries on top of his cake” is his business in Abu Dhabi.

Lastly, he said that in a workplace everyone should be relaxed. “Don’t work 100%, work only 10%, and the 90% use your brain and think about what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.

Ahmed Elnawawy has been appointed General Manager of Rixos Bab Al Bahr in Ras Al Khaimah, making the awardwinning, family-friendly, luxury hotel the newest venture in his 22-year career with top hospitality brand names.

In this role, he will bring to Rixos Bab Al Bahr his unique expertise, strategic market insight, and strong leadership skills, reporting directly to Cenk Unverdi, Regional Managing Director at Rixos Hotels Gulf. Elnawawy will be in charge of the hotel’s overall strategy and business operations, as well as leading, shaping, and executing them.

A seasoned luxury hospitality professional with strong operational, guest satisfaction, and revenue generation skills. Elnawawy is passionate about developing innovative strategies to improve operational performance.

Commenting on Elnawawy’s appointment, Cenk Unverdi said: “Rixos Bab Al Bahr is a unique property that is well positioned to capitalise on Ras Al Khaimah’s growing appeal as the fastest growing holiday destination, and it’ll need visionary leadership to ensure it remains competitive. Elnawawy comes to Rixos Bab Al Bahr from the Emaar group, where he most recently served as Head of Emaar Customer Excellence. Between 2016 and 2022, Elnawawy also held several leadership positions within the Emaar Group.

He began his career as Director of Rooms at the Address Dubai Mall, then moved on to General Manager at Manzil Downtown, General Manager at the Address Fountain Views, and General Manager at the Palace Downtown. Elnawawy is also no stranger to Rixos. He was the Rooms Division Manager at Rixos The Palm Dubai from 2013 to 2015.

Joe Cumello appointed as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Blue Planet, a division of Ciena.

Cumello has served as Ciena’s Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications since September 2020, and previously as Vice President, Global Marketing & Partners. He rejoined the company in 2015 through its acquisition of Cyan, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer and a member of the company’s management team, which introduced Blue Planet to the industry.

In his new role, Cumello continues reporting to President and CEO Gary Smith, and will be responsible for all aspects of driving the next phase of growth for the company’s Blue Planet division.

“Joe possesses a strong software pedigree, coupled with a deep understanding of Ciena’s corporate strategy and market positioning strengths, that will drive our Blue Planet business forward in alignment with market dynamics and customer demand,” said Gary Smith, president and CEO, Ciena.

In the networking industry for more than 30 years, Cumello initially joined Ciena in 2004 through its acquisition of Internet Photonics. Following that, he held executive roles at Sidera Networks and SafeNet. He then joined Cyan in 2013 before rejoining Ciena. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
