Dublin 2020

Dublin2020 was Dublin’s Bid (during 2015) to host the European Capital of Culture for 2020. Dublin competed in order to build a new story for Dublin, based on shared ideas, inclusion and confidence. Dublin can be a leading city in Europe; we can take advantage of our talented young population, our informed older population and everyone in between to initiate major progress in communities and neighbourhoods. While unsuccessful in that bid, the city developed a five-year cultural strategy (2016-2021) through that process and undertook to implement it through an initiative called Dublin's Culture Connects since 2016.
