F rom th e M anager... Hello All!

Exciting & Busy are the two words I would use to describe the first three months of the year and the rest of year at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds & Event Center. We kicked off the year with the exciting Amsoil Champion Snocross Event. If that was not enough snowmobile racing for you, we hosted the Midwest Snocross event in February. We have filled our buildings and grounds with Auctions, Craft & Vendor shows and other events. If you have not been to a Wild West Wednesday County Dance, it’s my favorite night of the week here, from 7 to 11pm, the place is full of great people of all ages enjoying a great evening of country music, dancing, friends, family, and cold beverages. A lot of fun was had by all at the Buddy Holly Dance Thanks To all that attended our Blue Ribbon Fundraiser for a great meal and a fun packed show by Comedy Hypnotist Anna Rose. For all the great events at the Fairgrounds visit us at www.dbqfair.com Most importantly, thank you to all of you that attend our events, volunteer at events, donate your time and talents to make this a great community event center. The acts of kindness I have seen over the years deserves a heartfelt “Thank You”. Kevin Kotz, DCFA General Manager

F rom th e P resid ent... Hello Everyone, My name is Tony Steffen and this is my first year as Fair President. A little about me, fair has been part of my life since I was young. My parents showed dairy for many years and when my sisters and I were old enough to join 4H we continued the tradition of showing at the fair. We are only 3 months into this year and off to a great start with recent events at the Fairgrounds include two Snocross races, the Annual Blue Ribbon Dinner, Buddy Holly Dance, craft shows, flea market, numerous auctions, and new this year we had the Irish Social. The Dubuque County Fair was awarded the “2021 Blue Ribbon Fair Award” by the board of directors of Association of Iowa Fairs for serving the youth and the community through varies events. These events couldn’t have been done with out the countless hours from the board members, office staff, family, friends, and volunteers. I thank you all for the hard work and time you all have put in. We continue to have a full calendar of events starting with our Blue Ribbon Breakfast and Auction, Torque Fest, Flower Frenzy, weekly Wild West Dance, car shows, and of course this summer is the 69th Annual Dubuque County Fair. I hope you take time to come out to enjoy one of our many events this year. Tony Steffen, DCFA President

V IN TAGE TORQUE F EST AP RIL 29 & 30 Vintage Torque Fest is not the typical car show. It is the BEST traditionally inspired hot rod, custom, vintage cycle show in Iowa! This is a festival that brings together people from around the country that have a passion for keeping the traditions of the past alive. This means keeping the music, cars, clothes, and art alive. This is what Vintage Torque Fest is about. It is a festival that brings hot rods from around the country, artists from around the world, vendors from east and west coasts, and bands that have toured the world several times over into one location. Camping is available at the fairgrounds so you can stay close to the action. This is a very large event for the fairgrounds, so please come out and support it. The Dubuque County Fair Association is looking for volunteers to work concessions, etc. at the event. If you want to volunteer, call the fair office at 563-588-1406. For all the details visit www.vintagetorquefest.com There is no racing on Sunday, May 1st due to Torquefest!
